You're incorrect, the PowerColor Reaper and Asrock Challenger are $600 and are the only 9070 XT cards available at MSRP Online recently, these two cards also available for $20 cheaper at Microcenter in store. The 9070 XT Red Devil has never been $600.

Those are entry level models Powercolor Reaper ($580) and Asrock Challenger ($570), these are mid-high end models that have larger-better coolers

Will I get much benefit if I pair with older 3800X?

If you plan on playing games with unlocked refresh rate you might run into CPU overhead issues.

That would depend on what your current GPU is. The 3800x still holds up fine and would really only be a limiting factor on the highest end gpus

IIRC, the Red Devil was already $600 just recently.

Currently have an AMD 6800 (non XT) and looking at the card in this SD. I am guessing I will get bottlenecks, but if I can pull out some more FPS (1440p) it would be great, but don't want to drop $630 on just a 10% boost because of my CPU. Maybe for 30% Smilie.

Would a Zen 7800x be good with this for 2k only gaming? I play mainly older games, do not like any new and that will probably no change.

Have a 2070 Super and Zen 3600 and still getting what I want but have some money saved up and would like a new build, my last one ever tbh

Not sure how to predict GPU prices in the future with the ram prices going up. Maybe GPUs are in line but doesn't hurt to upgrade bit by bit if you want the ease of mind.

Never know if you wait and then find out prices have skyrocketed and now you're stuck

Just to offer some insight, I was on a X570 system that originally contained a 3700X installed w/ a 1080Ti (in 2019) before upgrading to the 5800X w/ 6800XT followed by the 5700X3D w/ a 6950XT and finally back to a 5800XT w/ the 6950XT. However, I made the executive decision to just upgrade to a whole new AM5, X870 system containing a 9900X when I decided I wanted to buy the 9070XT.

I have a 7900XTX and was holding out hope that there would be a 9070XTX but it looks like AMD isn't going that route ever.

Nope, AMD made it be known they weren't even going to try to compete on the high end with NVIDIA with the 9000s series GPUs.
