P-i-P pot in pot method, both covered and uncovered, unlocks the full power of i.p The opening of the 6 qt inner pot is 8.5" Look for accessory pots with an o.d. of 6-1/2 to 7 -1./2 " Titanium metal back[acting pots between 1 and 2 L capacity are ideal because they come with lose fitting lids, have the fastest cooking speed, are inert and non-toxic and will not burn your hands handling right out of the I.p.. Pros of the new model:
Seems to come to pressure faster than the old model. Like the indicators for when it's still pre-heating, versus cooking, versus warming.
The dial is way faster for manipulating settings and temperature than the old up/down arrow buttons.
LOVE the redesigned vent valve. Both the button switch and especially the diffuser put over the vent seal make it a far less perilous process when letting pressure escape. I no longer have to look for a wooden spoon or pair of tongs to twist the pressure release valve to avoid getting burned.
The pot handles make the inner pot easier to remove, and prevent the pot from swirling around while stirring. Very nice addition.
Cons:
My old model had a removable power strip, which made it both easier to store (less worry about the cord catching on things in the cabinet) and more repairable/servicable. The Pro seems to have an attached cable, which feels like a downgrade.
The sous-vide option works, but it's much slower at it than my dedicate Anova sous-vide circulator. I will definitely say it's more convenient to have it in one appliance, especially since the IP pot is much smaller and I don't have to heat up like 9 quarts of water just to sous-vide a couple steaks, but as I said, it is rather slow to come to temp. Accuracy is not perfect, either, but to be honest I don't think it's a deal-breaker if my steak is 123.5 degrees instead of 125.
The slow cook option still sucks. I was really hoping it would finally work, because I just don't have the space in my house for a crock pot, however I tried doing a slow-cooked pulled pork recipe for eight hours in the IP Pro, and it was still tough after 8 hours. I had to blast it on high pressure for another 40 minutes to get it tender. Bit disappointing.
For everything other than the power cord, I would say it's a straight upgrade from the earlier IP Duo models, and probably worth investing in if your old model is getting long in the tooth. I'm planning to give my older model to a relative, as it still works just fine after 8 years or so.

The Instant Pot Pro stands out as a more capable 6 quart multicooker, especially for searing, pressure cooking, yogurt, and pot in pot meals. The inner pot has built in handles, is stovetop safe, and the flat bottom makes stove or induction searing cleaner and easier. It also seems to come to pressure faster, with better controls and a redesigned vent valve. The main drawbacks are the attached power cord and weaker slow cook performance compared with a true slow cooker, so it fits best if pressure cooking is the priority.
Home cooks who want faster, more controlled pressure cooking and easier cleanup because commenters say the Pro has "20% more power" and that starting on the stove/portable induction then transferring to the Pro cuts time to the table while reducing wear on the heating element.
People making long, low-temperature yogurt at a steady setpoint because one commenter says it's "wonderful for making L. reuteri yogurt (36 hours at a constant 100 degrees)" and that being about one degree off is easy to offset in the settings.
Owners who like using the Instant Pot as a multi-step cooker (including pot-in-pot) because commenters describe using P-i-P for small portions and note the Pro's inner-pot opening size constraints and venting requirements that help unlock the method's results.
Upgraders coming from an older Instant Pot Duo who want improved controls and safer venting because one commenter reports the Pro comes to pressure faster, has easier temperature controls, and a redesigned vent valve/diffuser that makes pressure release "far less perilous."
People who specifically want strong slow-cooker performance (like pulled pork that stays tender without extra steps) because commenters say the slow cook option "sucks" on Instant Pots and that pulled pork was still tough after 8 hours, requiring additional high-pressure time.
Shoppers who don't plan to use the inner pot on a stovetop and are deciding between the Pro and a cheaper model because one commenter says they've never needed stove-pot use and also read reviews that the Pro may not slow-cook as well as the Duo model, making the extra cost questionable.
People who care about sous-vide speed and accuracy compared with a dedicated circulator because a commenter says the sous-vide option is "much slower" than their Anova and takes longer to come to temp.
Amazon buyers who might expect price-drop refunds after purchase because one commenter reports Amazon wouldn't refund the price difference and required a return/replacement to get the lower price.

This Pro model will offers some more features and definitely worth buying as long as you're going to use it, and not store on the shelf like myself who buys lots of stuff but only use like 20% of what I bought
