This Legion 5 Gen 10 stands out as a thin, light 15.1 inch OLED gaming laptop with 32GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD, and an RTX 5060. The Ryzen AI 7 350 is framed as the efficiency choice, with better battery life for browsing, video, and other light use, while the 5060 and 32GB memory suit heavier workloads. Cashback and promo stacking can cut the price sharply, with some totals landing near $850 to $980. The main tradeoff is 8GB VRAM, and nearby RTX 5070 options are close in price but usually drop to 16GB RAM.
buyers who are trying to maximize the final price with stacking promos/cashback because commenters estimate the deal can drop to around ~$850 when combining education/cashback and PayPal Pay Later (and they report getting it closer to ~$980 with student discounts and additional cashback).
buyers who care about better battery life for browsing/video/simple tasks and are okay with "good enough" performance when unplugged because commenters say the AMD AI 7 350 is more efficient and they specifically wanted longer battery life for non-max-performance use.
people who need 32GB RAM for their workload because they "absolutely cannot survive with 16GB RAM" and prefer a full-power RTX 5060 paired with 32GB over a higher-GPU option that only comes with 16GB.
people who want a thinner, lighter Legion for everyday use because one commenter highlights that Gen 10 is much thinner and lighter than the older Costco model they compared against.
people who want to prioritize upgrade flexibility for memory because one commenter chose the 5070 option on the logic that RAM can be upgraded later (when prices are more reasonable).
people comparing against a 5070 configuration who assume the GPU bump automatically makes it better, because commenters point out the 5070 option they found comes with only 16GB RAM (while this deal is 32GB), and they chose 32GB/5060 for their needs.
people who need really long all-day unplugged battery life because commenters argue that a gaming-class laptop isn't the right choice for that, and that the Ultra 7 only has "more than adequate" battery life unless you can't find an outlet for an entire day.
buyers who are specifically looking for the fastest CPU performance because at least one commenter says not to buy the AI 7 350 and instead get the Core Ultra 7 255HX 51, claiming the Intel is about twice as fast.
buyers who are sensitive to VRAM limits because one commenter notes that both the 5060 and the comparisons are limited by 8GB VRAM.
people who want a straightforward CPU comparison to the Intel HX chips, because one commenter argues the CPUs being compared are different classes and that other AI chips (like Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 / Ryzen 9 8940HX) are more comparable to the 255X.

The Ultra is more powerful. The Ryzen is more energy efficient. I suggest looking up the difference between the two. You really need to decide which factors are important to you.

If not twice, I think a lot of people would still appreciate if it can last even 50% longer which, from the tests I've seen for this laptop (Jarrodtech), the Ryzen does seem to achieve. I'm not looking to get the highest performance while on battery, I just want my laptop to last longer for simple browsing, video playback, other simple tasks and I'm good. If I wanted maximum performance, I'll just plug it in.
For sure, the HX chip is several times better if you only care about the highest performance. I just wanted to share why someone might want this configuration.
Aren't you comparing 2 different classes of CPUs? I'm not going to spend a lot of time looking but a quick search results from AI says the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and Ryzen 9 8940HX are more comparable to the 255X.
