This Cuisinart outdoor wok station is built for home stir fry, with a prep table that makes it easy to stage bowls and ingredients. The 50,000 BTU burner is praised as plenty for home use, especially with a 14 inch or smaller wok, and the directed flame is seen as better suited to wok cooking than broader high power burners. The main cautions are that serious restaurant style wok work may want more heat, and assembly can be frustrating with misaligned holes and awkward fasteners. It is also listed as non returnable, so the fit for your cooking style matters.

Common Questions (5)

  • The 50,000 BTU burner is reported to be adequate for home use, especially with a 12"-14" wok and reasonable portion sizes. It may feel low for restaurant-style wok cooking or very large woks, but it can still outperform an electric range and produce good stir-fry results.

  • The item is listed as non-returnable on the product page. That makes it worth checking carefully before ordering, since you may not be able to send it back if it arrives damaged or you change your mind.

  • Assembly is reported to be difficult, with screw holes that may not align and fasteners that are awkward to tighten or remove. The unit can still work well once built, but the setup process is described as frustrating.

  • The flame is directed in a small cone, which can be better for wok cooking than higher-power burners that spread heat over a wider surface. That focused flame helps concentrate heat where a wok needs it instead of heating a large area.

  • Yes. The side prep table gives space to stage bowls and ingredients, which is practical for fast stir-frying and keeping everything within reach while cooking.

I'm like broken record now, but can anyone recommend this but with a burner instead of wok station. Just a pot cooker burner type of set up otherwise I guess I'll buy BBQ with side burner.

newb (well not really new, just not skilled whatsoever lol) wok'er here. I've been using a flat bottomed wok on an electric range so the results won't be as great as compared to gas IIUC. I was doing some research on gas woks, and it seems 50,000 BTU is on the lower side and serious wok cooking usually requires 100,000 BTU? With that said, idk if I could get to that level in the first place

Is 50k btu able to accomplish the taste of restaurant's 125k+ btu stove?
yes. Unless you are a professional, the 50k burn really quick; you have to move the wok really fast.

I have this. Purchased at beginning of the summer for 300. Definitely worth it for home use. For the people asking if the btu is enough, are u turning out a dish every 2 to 3 mins like a restaurant? I have yet to cook with this on full blast

What the misconception is about wok burners is that you have to have the large BTU burner. No, you don't. You have to have a 100k burners if you are using a 19" diameter wok. The smaller the wok the smaller output the burner needs to be. 50k is adequate for a 14" wok as long as you don't crowd it with too much food at one time. And it will be far superior to what you are getting from your electric range. If you used a 12" properly seasoned carbon steel wok on this it would perform perfectly! Just cook portion sizes appropriate for the wok size and burner output. Calculate btu per square inch to compare.

How would this compare to say the King Kooker 24 inch thing at walmart? I am running out of patio space, dont really need the table to the side.

I hear the Powerflamer 160 is the best for a home cook.
I highly doubt a BBQ with a side burner is powerful enough for wok cooking.

I can't personally vouch for this item, but for those that think this isn't powerful enough, how the flame it output is very important too. Most of the outdoor burners that are way more powerful actually suck for wok cooking because they are desined to heat up a large surface area. the flame on this is directed in a small c9ne so better for wok cooking.
