I have a ninja, different model, with 1500w motor. If I do a large batch of bread or pizza dough it struggles a bit. Not sure if 1200w will do well under heavy loads of dough. Otherwise no complaints for last 4 years.

Does she mean the Costco Ninja? It has the same big pitcher and blade tower, but it's 1200W and the controls are simpler and less computerized. It works great as a food processor, and even crushes ice, so I'm sure this one will too.

As 100rabh said, it'll struggle to knead dough except in small batches. But if you are serious about bread you need a Kitchenaid.

It's not a good food processor, no. Not in my opinion. The Ninja is trying to be too many things at once to be good at any of them. As a blender, you'd be better to buy a refurbished Vitamix or Blendtec. As a food processor, a standard Cuisinart is better. For a mixer, literally any stand mixer is better.

Seriously?
Yes, a $300 Vitamix, plus a $100+ Cuisinart, plus a $150+ stand mixer, is better than an $84 Ninja.

But those cost over 6x as much (you can't compare refurbs to new), take up 5x the kitchen space, and for what most people do, the Ninja works very well.

It's better than the sub-$75 Cuisinarts at food processing, it crushes ice and makes smoothies, and if you want to screw around with pizza dough you can. If you turn out to be so much of a kitchen king that you outgrow the Ninja, go ahead and buy that Kitchenaid or Vitamix. 99% of us won't.

Yes, that's the Costco one, except 1600W instead of 1200W. I'm sure it'll work great, though I doubt you'll ever use any of the extra attachments!
