For anyone wondering, Battlefront 2 still has a good playerbase on PC. No trouble finding games, even for the more niche things like Ewok Hunt. I still have a ton of fun just doing PVE on it. Gorgeous game.

I loved the first and played it a ton. I got discouraged from playing the second after the not-so-great reviews. I need to give it a shot

Recently loaded it BF2 up on a 4-6 year old higher end (for it's day) laptop with a clean new windows 11 build and it wouldn't start. This is a steam install of the game, not EA. It hangs on the loading screen, no mouse, no keyboard. Tried several things and eventually got past the loading screen by making it run in compatibility mode.
TLR, this game is so old now it may not run on a "new" computer without some techie know how.

Not saying your issues aren't there, but I'm playing on a Windows 11 PC with the latest Intel series a 5070 and no issues. Could be a steam issue, but the EA install is good to go on modern systems.

Yep, can confirm. I only do Co-op and Supremacy and can play anytime with no issues finding new games. Lots of very good players on Supremacy though. If you're a new player, might want to do a bit of Co-op first to get your bearings fighting against bots. But man, this game is so fun. And I agree, the game still looks great - I was just playing Outer Wilds 2 and I honestly prefer how BF2 looks.

Do you mean the more recent version of Battlefront 2?
According to ProtonDB, SW: BF2 (2017) runs well on the Steam Deck at medium settings. Seems like the last report (as of 6 days ago) works fine on DX11, other reports saying it works on the Experimental builds of Proton and older Proton 9.0.4.
I guess compatibility looks good on SteamOS, should work great on the Steam Machine when that launches next year. For people who have trouble with Windows 11, creating a boot drive with SteamOS or Bazzite might be an option.
