Not this one, but I recently sprayed my 330i with the Wagner gun. The only problem I had was the clear ran after I cleaned the gun. My fault because I messed with the material flow knob. I waited a month, lightly sanded the clear and put on another few coats of clear. The car is darn near perfect, except where a bee though my hood was a great place to demonstrate the breast stroke.

Would this work for painting walls?

For 20 bucks and Dewalt battery compatibility, I'm in for one. I painted my house with the el-cheapo Harbor Freight 16-dollar plug-in spray gun, and it's held up for the last 8 years or so (the house paint, not the spray gun, only due to poor maintenance on my part!).

It's an HVLP gun expect HVLP quality. MAYBE OK for small stuff like furniture, but you're still going to have to water down the paint to get a good pattern. There's a pretty narrow window between spitting and runs.

Not questioning your method but just trying to understand. Is it ok to spray clear if you only sand it? Wouldn't be better to sand it before it's completely out gassed so the new layer can cure with the old?

The sprayer is a challenge to clean. For small, single-use projects, its low cost makes disposal a viable alternative to cleaning. For large-scale work, however, the extra paint you need to use will negate any savings from the sprayer's purchase price.

I'd be really curious if it has battery management built in so it doesn't over discharge the dewalt 20v batteries. Only one way to find out!
