The Galaxy Watch7 Metro promo is a low upfront way to get Samsung's LTE smartwatch, and it can also be used as a normal Bluetooth, WiFi, and GPS watch if LTE is not needed. Community notes point to easy pairing with Samsung phones and even iPhone via the Bridge Wear app, with a bright screen and smooth performance. The main friction is Metro ordering and activation, which can require an existing account, a linked phone line, and waiting for delivery before the next order. Several reports also flag that the watch may be tied to Metro service for a long period.
Android phone owners wanting a standalone LTE watch, because it can pair, sync messages, and use its own number without carrying the phone.
Shoppers comfortable activating through Metro's Android flow, because setup and line activation work from the order-status page and can be done after delivery.
Online orders can work without being on Metro for 30 days, and some shoppers were able to add the watch line after 15 days or exactly 30 days. A one-time 72-hour extension was also used to place the order after the 30-day window.
The watch is reported as factory unlocked in IMEI checks, but multiple reports say Metro's software keeps it SIM locked to Metro for about 365 days. It still works as a Bluetooth/Wi‑Fi watch, but non-Metro SIMs can show "Emergency calls only."
Yes. You can delete the eSIM and disable LTE, and it will function as a BT/Wi‑Fi/GPS watch paired to your phone. It can still handle calls, texts, and notifications through the paired phone connection.
Yes, but the account has limits and the next order often has to wait until the prior one is shipped or activated. Some users were able to buy two watches on one phone line by ordering the second right after the first was marked shipped, while others hit eligibility blocks.
The deal price is $39.99 total when you add the $10 smartwatch line, with tax extra. Some orders show the watch at $29.99 plus the first month of the Connected Smartwatch line charged upfront.
Activation can be done from Metro's order-status page after shipping, and some users say the email "Activate Service" link is not the right one. The watch line may appear in the app as "Phone-first Unknown Device" until the watch arrives and is paired.
bummer. I didn't think this offer will pop up again so ordered the mogo g stylus and now it seems I'm blocked from ordering more devices. anyone have a suggestion.

You are blocked until you receive and activate the phone.
4 devices seems to be the limit. I know i'm blocked because I called in to check promo and the rep tried to process it but say it was declined and told me to check my credit card details again.

I paid $29.99 for the watch + $10 for the first month of the smartwatch line (Metro charges the first month up front), so the total came to $41.79 with tax.
When the order goes through, Metro automatically creates a new line for you. In the app it shows up as "Phone-first Unknown Device" until the watch arrives. You can't edit the line or change anything yet, but that's normal. It's already active in billing, but not activated on a device because the watch isn't shipped/paired yet.
The $10/mo plan is called Connected Smartwatch. It basically gives the watch its own LTE number so you can use it without your phone. Metro bills you right away, even though the watch isn't connected yet, but everything unlocks once the watch arrives and you activate it.
As far as cancelling the line later: you fully own the watch since you paid for it upfront. Once the watch arrives and activates, you should be able to cancel the line if you don't want to keep paying monthly. The watch itself won't be locked, it's not like Metro's phone promos where you owe anything if you stop service.
I'll update this post again once the watch arrives and I test the activation, LTE, cancellation options, etc.
so i got the watch and its a normal device with no inherent carrier locks on it though it can only be activated using a samsung device but if you dont care about the mobile data or call/messaging features you can use it as a normal smart watch. the setup process wasnt locked at all you can activate the line if you want but it is not required.

What do you mean by "it can only be activated using a Samsung device"? What sort of activation are we talking about here?
So can we use the LTE service from another carrier if we wanted to since you are saying it is not carrier locked to Metro? Like Total Wireless, Verizon, etc.
So I want to use it with S25 Ultra. Can I just delete the eSIM and turn off LTE and then pair it with my phone so that I can receive notifications, messages, phone calls, etc on the watch instead of using my phone...similar to what my wife uses her Apple watch with her 16 Pro. Is that doable with this watch from Metro? I have Total Wireless as my carrier.

Metro does not allow parallel orders. Have to wait for existing order to be delivered and activated.
Each watch line has its own # but is tied to a phone line. If you want 4 watches you need to have 4 lines.
The watch is factory unlocked. It's rare for smart watches to be carrier locked unless financed.
Are you sure about watch being unlocked? Folks on reddit seem to say that is locked to Metro. So if we delete the eSIM from metro then can it be used as LTE device with another carrier or just delete eSIM and use it as a BT device then if carrier locked?
My watch arrived yesterday. I was able to get it paired to an S25 Ultra (not on Metro) and everything works great.
I sideloaded VLC and already loaded a bunch of comedy clip videos onto it to share with people at random times haha
Ive been out of the Smartwatch game since GWS3 Frontier…and this is a huge leap! Huge memory, no lag, really nice screen. Wish it had the rotating bezel, but its still super nice regardless. The functionality of the new OS is amazing compared to how locked-down Tyzen used to be.
I swapped out the silicone band for an older gold metal band and already got some compliments on it, haha
Did you activate the eSIM initially on the watch and setup watch and then delete eSIM/turn off LTE to make it a BT watch? Or did you not even activate the eSIM on initial setup and just went ahead to setup as BT watch?

The watch can function as a Bluetooth/Wi‑Fi/GPS device if LTE is disabled and the eSIM is removed.
Metro can create the smartwatch line automatically after checkout, and the watch unlocks once it ships and pairs.
Phone and message syncing can work when pairing the watch to an iPhone using the Bridge Wear app.
The watch can be used as a normal smartwatch even if mobile data and call or messaging features are not needed.
The advertised $39.99/$29.99 pricing can change or appear incorrectly at checkout, including showing $199 or $99 instead of the promo price.
Online ordering and checkout can fail or block progress, including a greyed-out Continue button or a "call us to complete order" error.
Cellular setup can be unreliable on non-Metro plans, with the watch showing "Emergency calls only" after eSIM installation.
Eligibility for adding the watch line can change after an order, and the system may show "no longer eligible for an additional line."

I cannot comment on the cellular part as we won't use that.

I don't know, but I got one to try for that exact purpose. Will report back with findings.
