Dyson Animal 3 is coming through as a strong pet hair vacuum with plenty of suction and a track record of lasting for years. The brush head is praised for pulling up hair without clogging, and the vacuum is described as a solid replacement for older Dyson uprights. The main cautions are that it can be too strong for some rugs, and parts or repairs may be harder to handle if something breaks. The Lowe's member price also appears to land at $229.99 in cart, though other prices and alternatives were mentioned.

  • Households replacing an aging upright, because it has stayed reliable for seven to fifteen years before wearing out.

  • Pet owners with heavy shedding, because it pulls up a lot of hair and the brush never seems to get clogged.

  • Homes that need strong deep-cleaning suction, because it is powerful enough to lift embedded debris and keep working on long-term use.

  • Owners who want easy repairs, because Dyson parts may be hard to obtain and local appliance shops may not be able to fix it.

  • Homes with delicate area rugs, because the suction can pull a ruggable rug off its Velcro backing.

  • People who need a vacuum that stays untangled with lots of hair, because the cleaner head can tangle and lose suction until it is taken apart.

Dyson has discontinued their 3rd party repair program. If this think breaks, your local appliance repair shop cannot fix it anymore. They used to be able to fix Dyson. Now they cannot. There's really no reason to buy a Dyson. You're getting Shark quality for twice the price.
Because of the DIY with many youtube videos out there, most of it is fairly simple, its the trouble shooting that takes a bit of time and critical thinking and there are youtube videos on how to troubleshoot as well to find the problem.

Yes, of course. The only problem is you cannot buy parts from Dyson should something need to be changed. This is why I recommend Sebo, Miele, Oreck, Eureka, etc. before making the investment, it would be worth your time to spend a few minutes on Reddit reading about the different brands

The vaccum is very powerful. After vaccumming the carpet, the carpet feels rough than before. Will it spoil the carper sooner?
