I cut the trees into logs with one of several non-corded saws that I don't care to wear out or replace. I carry the logs to the firewood pile, where I have a 12-ga cord and a sawhorse contraption, and I cut them to stove length with a $50 corded saw that only needs chains and files. No danger of pinching the chain unless I'm incredibly stupid. Works for me.

Why would you pay a price premium for your corded saw to be yellow? Beats me. Also, I believe an 18" bar would be noticeably worse for my application.

I happen to think cordless tools are a terrible idea. I really hate all the battery maintenance. Cordless tools are pretty much the definition of you will own nothing and be happy.

I agree with everyone about corded. However, the battery adds weight.
I'm physically disabled, and that weight makes a difference after using it for a couple of hours.

I hope it doesn't really weigh 14.5 lbs. that's almost as heavy as my Echo CS-590 Timberwolf.

I have a small Earthwise corded chainsaw I use for small stuff around my wood piles near the detached garage. Just keep bar oil in it and it goes.

That makes absolutely no sense. Cordless tool are a terrible idea? The cordless market in 2024 is $12-14 Billion, expected to rise to $30-32 billion by 2033.

Forget the size of the product market, think of the productivity gains around houses and job sites by not needing to drag around and store extension cords, or dealing with small engine maintenance, gas, oil, etc., etc.

Your problem is defined by your sentiment of not liking "battery maintenance." What maintenance is there?! You charge them up when they're low. If you can't handle that, you probably don't need to be handling tools.
