The newer model suggestion by Amazon explicitly states 15. https://www.amazon.com/Govee-Outd...0F21VKH7V/

The other 48' models also specify 15 lights:

I wish Govee would get with it and add Matter to all of their products. I like their products but their app is not good and I'd prefer to integrate easily with Home Assistant.

What's the difference between the $60 48' vs the $36 one here?

Anyone know how to keep squirrels from eating these? Do I need to walk around regularly spraying repellent? My string lights lose a light every couple months or so. Always clean cut through the wire. I should start keeping them on all day so maybe they'll get a zap to deter.

I see Rgbic on $36 vs rgbicw on $60 and looks like the power adapter is water resistant on the more expensive one also

Yeah, a new one will almost immediately move in after the old one is gone. I had a neighbor that tried to capture and move squirrels from his yard. He captured something like 60 or so over the years and never made a dent.

The MQTT integration works decent enough.

They seem to be allergic to lead pellets.

Most modern string lights (especially LEDs and typical outdoor strands) use very low voltage and current. While a squirrel might feel a small tingle or shock if it chews through the wire and the internal conductor touches a damp part of its mouth/body, this "zap" is generally not strong enough to cause harm or create a lasting, negative association strong enough to stop the chewing.

He said REmove, you said MOVE. Big difference.

Govee to mqtt bridge addon is as easy as it gets. Works flawlessly

So one thing I dislike - I got a set gifted to me with 2 strings - but 2 is way too much for my porch so I figured I'd get a power supply and Bluetooth module - BUT NO - GOVEE does NOT sale replacement power supplies or Bluetooth boxes - you have to buy them online and it comes out to 60$ for both

So now I have a whole string sitting useless. And it just pisses me off the GOVEE would rather make me buy a whole new set when I just need the accessories
