OXO Good Grips or nothing. Specifically avoid cheap tongs like these where the metal arm stops short of the grabby part. These might be fine for the office kitchen or something, but for you own house spend a few dollars more and get the OXOs.

I didn't even realize they made these without metal in the grabby part. Thanks for the warning.

I agree, the stainless crimp gets loose and the nylon falls out.

Like these!

Or even better get the ones with the Silicon Head:
https://www.amazon.com/OXO-Grips-...B003L0OYK8

There is also Stainless Steel too

Which are best bang for buck?

It's silicone though.

If you are going to get this deal, the 9" and 12" combo is a better deal for $1 more:

There's no nylon. It's silicone. And I wouldn't be so sure about it falling out easily. I have another brand and the metal arms are full tang e.g. they are inserted deeply into the paddles. Looking at the photo, it looks like the arms have two side hooks that go into the paddles.

I've got gorilla grip tongs and they are very good. The grabby tops are not floppy silicone. I just verified that they must be metal reinforced as I was unable to bend the tip at all.

I have no qualms recommending this product.

OXO is of course very good.My hot take: Amazon is returnable. There's very little risk here. In fact I'm just bought a set myself.

Also the Tovolo brand is very good for tongs.

These things are junk, the gripper is just a weak plastic and snapped the first time I grabbed a small roast to rotate it.

Find tongs that have stainless all the way to the end and coated in silicone, not steel with plastic tips.
