If this is just a commentary on the crowds I get it, but I also know some people aren't familiar with the CA parks. Disneyland and Disney California Adventure are directly across from one another and share an entrance. You can walk from the back of Disneyland (Toontown) to the back of California Adventure (Cars Land) in 20 minutes. It's pretty common for guests to go back and forth.
Ultimately you still need to pay ~$200 for a supervising adult to park hop so keep that in mind. And if you're spending multiple days it may be a smarter move to not park hop and save ~$60/day on your adult ticket. Either way if your family was already planning a trip this summer, it's a nice offer and the park hopping is definitely useful at Disneyland.

How strict are they with checking age? Would a 13 year old be able to pass with this ticket?

What are you going to be able to do across multiple parks in one single day? 1 ride apiece in 2 separate parks then go home?

I guess you could find an unpopular ride and hit it like 15 times in each park. I remember when I went in like 2007 or so riding on the Tower of Terror like 10 times, in fact I rode enough that one time they forgot to buckle me in, and I still remember hanging on for dear life on that really exciting ride.

Plus if its too much, people don't have to go to disneyland. It's not a hard choice.

Recession indicator. I remember my coworker went on a Disney cruise back in 2008 because it was so cheap then.

It's about 80 degrees in June. July maybe 87 most of the time. Low humidity until August and that's only if some storm is out in the pacific somewhere. Anaheim has great weather.
In the evenings bring a jacket in June. June Gloom can hit and get only to about 72 or so. Last July was very pleasant weather and very low crowds.
