This is a tray processor I'm guessing. This is something that they do in Europe often. They buy these processors in bulk and they come in these trays. They sell them without boxes. Typically only comes with a 3-month warranty versus the 3-year warranty and no packaging. Makes it a little bit cheaper.

$280 was best deal at microcenter for single cpu.

Otherwise it's the cpu mobo bundle for $350 that was also this month.

The 7600x3d is still $230 right now at microcenter also I think.

I guess if you don't live near a microcenter, this is probably the best you'll find.

Micro center had this processor a mobo and 2x 8 gib ddr5 ram for 300.... And yet here we are posting this old processor as a deal.... Sometimes this site is just no where close to a good deal.

Tray CPU's are common everywhere. You have to go to the place where you bought it from for warranty. The system builder gets a discount for buying them in bulk.

It's not as bad for the x3D as it doesn't benefit as much from higher clocked ram. So a cheaper lower clocked kit would be okay.

Yes I have a 9700X a 7900x and a machine with 7800X3D and the 7900X is faster for everyday use then the 7800X3D and the 9700X kicks both their butts on the productivity side of things

Yes, but then ddr5 ram went crazy so that bundle is gone for the foreseeable future. The 7800x3d has never been at this price on Amazon ($320 is the closest). Plus this deal is tax free if you don't reside in California plus free shipping. This is a notably good deal.Remember at 4k gaming cpu doesn't matter so 9800x3d and 7800x3d are tied. At 1440p 9800x3d is 8% faster on average. At 1080 its about 14% faster.
