According to the rtings review, besides the number, gen 2 had a huge jump in audio reproduction accuracy, is about the same in noise cancellation, with the gen 2's having usbc audio capabilities that the gen 1 doesn't have.

you can search for the gen 2 reviews. tldr: gen 2 has made a lot of improvements.

however, the gen 1 are fantastic, and I still love them.

Where I personally would want the gen 2 is...

gen 1 is completely wireless. you can't connect them via a USB-C cable to a computer or phone for a wired connection. the USB-C is only for charging. gen 2 does allow a wired audio connection if you want. because it now has a wired connection, you can get the best audio quality including lossless audio. no more bluetooth codec or compression over bluetooth. I also didn't think the omission was bad until I encountered situations where I did want it.

The other features sound great (better sound, more features, better battery life) but I was already happy with the gen 1

heck with them not mentioning the version details. Recently there was a deal for a pair of Bose headphones at $149. What's the difference between that model and the one posted here?

I've been using my QC45s, and after about five years they're finally starting to wear down. I'm thinking about upgrading, but the price on these still makes me hesitate.

I still think QC35 II are the best in sound clarity
