I tend to differ. This was the most accurate thermometer we used. Compared it during long hospital stays against different thermometers used, and always trusted withings thermo. Strongly recommend at this price.

This stupid thing requires mobile pairing and activation in-app in order to use. It's unnecessarily complicated

Wait, really?

A thermometer should NOT require those things. Hard pass.

I have one of these. It's great if you want a thermometer that logs readings you bc a review on your phone. Probably better options if you're just looking for something to read on the device each time.

Is the app free?

Yes. It's also the same app if you have a withings scale.

I have a withings blood pressure monitor for my parents to have easy access history to help provide more details to their doctors when needed. These 'smart' devices are definitely EXTRA and unnecessary if you just want quick single readings. For those with longer complicated health issues, a full history is useful to look for health patterns.

Thanks, OP for the find!

I paid over 100 dollars for it when it first came out! We used it so often that the button stopped responding to any press. For this price, it's a good deal and the free app works pretty well.

...I'd suggest a pen and paper for your parents.

There's nothing wrong (or too terribly challenging) with taking a reading and writing down the results.

A $3 thermometer doesn't need to be $38 and constantly dial home to the corporate mothership. At all. Hard pass.

If the application is free, then I hate to break it to you -- you're probably the product being sold.

And given the current trend, even if it isn't free -- you're STILL being sold!
