Just want to chime in my experience. Placed an order on the 3rd. Fedex delivered on the 6th with sigature required but Fedex just dropped it at the front door and forced a signature. Luckily, it was not stolen. Activated on the 7th, pay off online immediately in the morning. Try to do the esim swap, and pay off but the system said i still have monthlly installments. It wouldnt let me pay off. Waited until 10:00pm, and was able to do the unlock request as non ATT customer. The phone is now sim unlocked. Need to cancel the line with a rep tomorrow morning. Cancel the line with REP, zero balance on att web portal.

Did you do eSIM swap with another unlocked iPhone or Android phone? If iPhone how did you initiate the eSIM swap from new phone to old unlocked phone?

Question I don't think I saw asked or answered yet. Most people are concerned about unlocking, but I plan to use this on an existing ATT prepaid account. Can I just pay it off without activating and then transfer my current SIM to the new phone during setup? Even if I need to activate on the new plan and then cancel, I assume it will work on prepaid without unlocking? Thanks.
You can do it. There is no different with you turn on the iPhone, activate the new eSim come with it, Pay it off then transfer your current eSim to the iPhone 15 plus. cancelled the new line. This is no different than what people did the eSim swap trick.

I think the line is activated shortly before it's shipped out, so you still need to cancel the line to avoid charges. They do this in-store as well.

did you have any issues cancelling? i wasn't a previous ATT customer, and although they have created an account for me, the information is limited. i can't see any billing details for now until I actually activate the phone and can get a pass code i think.

no issues, although he was trying to sell me another plan, i politely declined and just told CSR to cancel the line. He also mentioned that ATT doesnt prorate the bill and wanted to charge me for the whole month even though the online portal was showing $0 amount. I asked him to make an exception, and he did. My billing details was showing a balance of zero after activiation. Not activation fee or anything. Maybe it was a glitch.

now that the ATT part of the deal is dead, does the t-mobile version work the same? It seems like they may do a hard credit pull as well? Anybody know? Thanks .
