I have the Kanto YU6 has a computer 2.1 set up with a monolift 10" sub. Will this be a huge upgrade over the yu6 or not worth the upgrade?

I use these hard wired with USB C and they are freaking amazing for the money. I bought at $600. At $500 these are a no brainer.

I am a big KEF fan, own some LS50s, and hope to get some R floorstanders soon. I like the packaging of the LSX II setup, and would probably make it my bedroom setup if I wanted active speakers. That said, for my money I'd rather have the Klipsch The Nines that are front page right now for $850. Some of my favorite "play anything well" active stereo setups. And the fact that they aren't the McLaren finish this time...

got these for $600 earlier this year. no regrets. don't expect huge room filling sound but they're fantastic as nearfields for my computer setup. pairs great with a sub.

If I bought this at $600, can I go and ask for a $100 refund? Or am I out of luck?

Just buy them and try. You have to use the LSX for a little while to get used to the sound before switching back to compare.

I'd asked about this in the Nines thread and the consensus seems to be that the Nines would have much better bass without a subwoofer, especially at high volumes. The LSX II LT do have a much smaller footprint which will be a benefit if you're putting them on a desktop or in a small room.

Another difference is that these speakers have built-in support for streaming music over WiFi. The Nines do not, so you'll either be stuck with Bluetooth 5.0 or add another device like a WiiM for streaming. That makes these KEFs a better all-in-one solution (which is probably most people's goal when buying active speakers).

What's the practical difference between the LT and the regular version? I don't like when big box warehouse stores get the neutered version of an item and aren't transparent about it.

The Nines are monsters compared to the KEF. The size difference is huge, like a small toaster vs a microwave. That's the biggest difference. Klipsch will sound much better for a medium to large room. Kef might need a sub for the full potential.

The LT does not have a analog phono input, and the regular lsx ii does. That's the main difference. Also, on LTs you connect R and L speakers with a wire and only one speaker needs a power outlet. On LSX II regular R and L are connected wirelessly, but both need a power outlet. Usually this is not a deal breaker for most but could be, depending on the placement.
