It's worth noting this isn't the same as typical fiber internet - it's "fiber-powered". Namely, from their own details,
Xfinity Internet is powered by fiber and connected to premises by coaxial cable
One drawback to this is upload and download speeds are not symmetric - the headline advertised speed is the download speed, but upload speeds are typically significantly lower. For example, looking at the Broadband Facts of the 1 Gig plan in my area, they specify typical download speed at 1170 mbps and typical upload speed at 117 mbps. In the past in different areas, I've seen advertised typical upload speeds as low as 20-40 mbps.

That may be perfectly fine for many people, in which case this is a good deal. But make sure to take a look at the upload speed for your area and confirm that it's fast enough for your needs.

Yes don't log in initially, then look up your address, then choose I'm moving here as a new subscriber. Then contie towards the end and on the screen where it has you sign up for an account, choose login instead. But make sure you cancel your old account, and return equipment. Otherwise you'll be billed for two accounts concurrent.

I'm a current customer and my plan has that bank autopay discount too. But I can still manually pay with a credit card every month, with no surcharge, and the discount remains.

Maybe it varies by location. I put in an address that I know recently got fiber installed in their area. Here's the 1-year offer page with the GCs at the bottom.
Wow. Great deal. What area are you in?

Just got a popup getting a free $50 virtual giftcard using code: MC50 at check out.

I was able to add the $50 plan then as other users stated when I got to the create user account page, I just logged in and I was able to fully check out
and get the $50 gift card. I wanted to keep my Diamond status with Xfinity as you get Peacock Premium for free regardless of that 2 years.

My plan is 300 up and 300 down. When using their modem, can get 300/300. But when try to activate brand new Hitron Coda56, after 30 mins online with Xfinity support, can get 300 down BUT ONLY 100 up. Is that normal? Would getting another modem like ARRIS S34 help?

Where you on the (1) gig plan previously? We just recently signed up for the (5) year price match deal but at a higher price than the $50 deal being offered now. I'm hoping I don't need to sign up under a different name in the household and return my equipment and pick up new equipment but it sounds like you had success.

I'll have to give the live chat a try. So may I ask what level and cost of service you had before? We signed up for the 5 year price lock (1) gig deal almost two months ago but at $65 and would love to get them to price match it to the $50 deal being offered now. We are using their XB8 modem and really would like to not have to hassle with cancelling our existing account and returning our current modem.

I was on the 1.2 Gig plan it seems as that moved sometime over a year, since I originally signed up for the 1 Gig plan. It did end up creating a new account under my profile, so I had 2 accounts. I used chat to cancel my old account and the representative did it without any issues.

I guess I should have tried to initially try a price match on the current account, but having dealt with Comcast for years it is just easy to cancel a account.

I was able to keep my Diamond status, so Peacock Premium will not turn off after 2 years and got the $50 gift card.

did you receive a call from Xfinity asking to confirm before they cancel your old account?
No call. Just two emails in the past two days.

Did the spouse switch. Kept my equipment, didn't select phone. What exactly is a self install kit when not taking their equipment? Also got a disconnect email to my email for disconnection of service. Which I didn't ask for. And had no date. So what's next? Do I make a move?
All you need to do is go to activate it with new login in Xfinity app.

I visited an Xfinity store today to cancel my old account number and return the modem. Because my mobile line was still tied to that old account, they couldn't (or maybe didn't want to) transfer it to the new account number. I also didn't want to lose my free line promotion for the new account number. (Both account numbers are displayed under my Xfinity account).
So I asked them to give me the account information I needed so I could port the number out and then port it back in under my new account number. They set things up on their end and added my phone's IMEI so the free mobile line would be ready to receive the number once I ported it back.
When I got home, I ported my old mobile line to Tello for $10 and activated it on my iPhone. After that, I got the port-out details from Tello and used the Xfinity app to activate the line on my new account number and port the number back. I ended up keeping the same number and the free unlimited line.
It was a bit messy and took some research, but everything worked out. Extra cost: $10 to port to Tello + $25 Xfinity activation fee.

finally pulled the trigger on this. I have my own modem + 1 free mobile line already. i used cashback + I tried referring myself through the refer-a-friend program + the MC50 coupon

I'm not sure what they're shipping to me since I have my own gear... and hopefully I can wait 90 days to activate the mobile line, let's see how it goes. i believe someone said the duplicate account will automatically resolve itself after a few days?

Excited, anyone have any idea what's is the catch? Taxes and fees? How much it would be? I know there is no sales tax but can someone confirm any other fees?

Don't think cash back and referral work together but good luck

i guess we'll see what happens. someone from Xfinity just called me and said they noticed I signed up for another plan, so now I essentially have two duplicate accounts under my login. she asked if I wanted to cancel my old one. I tried to play it out, ask her if there was any reason why I wouldn't want to cancel my old plan? She basically said my old line will be disconnected on 12/11/25 and there won't be any service interruption.

I asked what happens with my Xfinity Mobile line and she only told me to call Mobile support, which I don't really see a need to do.
