In June 2025 Xfinity/Comcast got rid of data caps on the 1GB plan. It comes with Peacock as well. Having your own modem has nothing to do with data caps. Google is your friend, use it.
lol chill out. i did ask google and it said some area 30 fee applies. I asked again as im writing this and now its saying all new plans have no data fees. i was asking because I did try to do some homework. Its been this way for years for existing customers. You either give them $25 for xfi complete, stay under 1.2tb to prevent overages, or give them 30 for unlimited data with ur own modem. hence why always opted for xfi complete. they still charge me 15 bucks for xfi complete. Glad Those days are over. moving foward. sometimes a human touch is better then google is your friend. your answer explains more even if ur being an ass.

as an existing customer of over 10+ years, I can confirm that I was able to migrate to this promo for $85/month. spoke to an online chat agent and got 2gb/months, no equipment fee, opted out of mobile line, and priced locked for 5 years. we were paying $140 for the same internet speed before.

For existing customers, you don't need to create a new account, you don't have to cancel old account. Simply go to the offer, log in, change plans, and select this plan and go through the order procedures. Xfinity has simplified changing plans. I have done this in the past and just did it today. Was paying $65 for 1 gig, now my next bill estimate is showing up as $50. Again no cancelling is required, no equipment return required, simply login to your account and change plan.
Not for me...it offers me a 5 year plan but at 115/month.

Does anyone know how to solve this? I've been a customer for 2 years, last month, I migrated my number and my wife's to another company, but we keep the internet. Now I tried to place an order as if my wife was moving to our address, new order, everything new. Order made. Now, when I'm going to create her account (part 2) when I put her cell phone number it appears that it's linked to my account? How is this possible if the number has been migrated? My concern is how I will activate the new equipment since I don't have any login to perform the activation in the app.

Yeah, I prefer symmetrical 300 Mbps over fiber than asymmetrical 1 Gbps over coax. Faster uploads (for work) and better latency (for online gaming). But that's just me. 99% of people won't really notice the difference, and even Xfinity's coax 200–300 Mbps plans are more than enough for most households. PS: Xfinity does offer fiber internet in some areas, so one needs to check what is available in their neighborhood.
I've been on Google Fiber for a few years and rarely do I hit servers that can deliver or accept more than 200 or 300 Mbps sustained. I'd love to save a few $ and downgrade to say 500 Mbps symmetrical, but they don't offer it. But yes, coming from Xfinity before, symmetrical speed really makes it feel much faster and better.

I'm a 25yr customer of Xfinity cable and internet, just added 2 mobile lines 18 months ago. Currently have C&I with 1GB and Ultimate pkg with 2 cable boxes = $212/mo, and 2 mobile lines = $64/mo. New customer deal with EVERYTHING the same = $212/mo ($64/mo savings). I would have $110 early termination fee and $70 to port my mobile numbers out and back in. Plus the MC50 code for $50 credit. If my math is correct, it would take 2 months to recover the fees, then I would be locked in for 5 years. Total savings = $3700 over 5 years, presuming costs on my old plan didn't change. I did talk with a retention rep who tried for 15 minutes to find ways to save money, but ultimately could only offer a one-time $60 account credit. 🫤
Did you have to get all new equipment, gateway and 2 tv boxes, under a new account to get the deal?

All new equipment (just shipped this morning). Signed up under a new email, but at checkout the system recognized my phone number and connected it to my existing account. Not seeing the $50 card anywhere, so I'm on hold to get that ironed out.

Edit: Rep said I have to wait until I get the new equipment and activate it to get the $50. I have a feeling I'll have to call again to get it. 🤷

Did you enter the code "MC50" at the very beginning when you added the plan to the cart?

I was able to see the prepaid card listed after placing order and also received email with a line "$50 Virtual Prepaid Card
Included" in order summary.

Yup, and saw the little message that indicated it was applied. I did have to go back and edit the mobile portion to add an additional line, so maybe it un-applied the code when I went back to checkout.
