It's worth noting this isn't the same as typical fiber internet - it's "fiber-powered". Namely, from their own details,
Xfinity Internet is powered by fiber and connected to premises by coaxial cable
One drawback to this is upload and download speeds are not symmetric - the headline advertised speed is the download speed, but upload speeds are typically significantly lower. For example, looking at the Broadband Facts of the 1 Gig plan in my area, they specify typical download speed at 1170 mbps and typical upload speed at 117 mbps. In the past in different areas, I've seen advertised typical upload speeds as low as 20-40 mbps.

That may be perfectly fine for many people, in which case this is a good deal. But make sure to take a look at the upload speed for your area and confirm that it's fast enough for your needs.

Yes don't log in initially, then look up your address, then choose I'm moving here as a new subscriber. Then contie towards the end and on the screen where it has you sign up for an account, choose login instead. But make sure you cancel your old account, and return equipment. Otherwise you'll be billed for two accounts concurrent.

I'm a current customer and my plan has that bank autopay discount too. But I can still manually pay with a credit card every month, with no surcharge, and the discount remains.

Any reason why it's saying at the last screen after following every step & submitting order, I get a "We're sorry, it looks like you'll need some help completing your order" Tried on web browser and the app.
Try the steps again and instead of "Sign in", just create account with the same info as your existing account like same name, email, phone number, etc and see if that works.
MAKE SURE you logout of your existing account(don't login to your existing account at all) and even better clear your Xfinity.com cookie OR use Private Window/Incognito Window of your browser.

Here is what I did. I use the same phone to create the new account under the same Xfinity ID. Once I did that, I could see both accounts and could switch back and forth. I have my own modem and requeted Xfinity gateway for the new one. While I was waiting for the gateway (shipping), I called the customer service to move my 2 mobile lines to the new account. He said he did set up from his side, but actuall move needed to be done by technical support. The technical support said the new accounts need to be activated to move the lines. Once I received the gateway and activated it, I called the tech support, and they moved both lines. They said it would show up in 15 minutes, but it took ~12 hours. The"manage plan" doesn't show since it only shows the customermizing the plan, but the billing shows that the mobile lines are now with the new account. This might not be applicable, but just want to share. I placed the order on Monday and activated it on Thursday evening, and billing shows the move on Friday morning.
@18971 @Serialassassin86 @cheap_SOB Did you have an early termination fee associated with your previous account and did you have to pay before switching over to the new one?

@Cheap_SOB Do you have to wait for 90 days for this to be considered a new line again?

I doubt it. Porting out from the old account and porting in to the new account SHOULD work.

The contract said $110 early termination fee, but I'm saving $64/mo and a rep offered a $60 "courtesy" credit for being with them 20+ years. I haven't seen a bill for that fee yet.

Do you think it could be because I want to use my own modem? I see others are getting the Xfinity gateway & its working for others.

Many use their own modem (already associated with previous account) and has no problem. And they can even activate the modem within minutes after received the order confirmation email.

$110 early termination fee is for 11 months. If you are with them for 7 months your early termination fee reduce by $70. You don't have to pay full $110.

When using Hitron CODA56, you can get the max upload speed of 1Gig? Or only up to 400Mbps upload?
When things are running the best I get maybe a little over or under 900 download and little over 100 upload. I had a 2GB plan that they offered me when I cut off the cable TV. Since my router and computer can't do over 1GB download I was getting the same download speed as I'm getting now, but I was getting close to 300 upload. Just the other day I switched to the 1GB plan to save a few buck since there was no way I was going to get anywhere close to 2GB download.

It still did not work for me using your method of not logging in at all and using exact account details & the system recognizing the account. Used incognito tab, Still get the "We're sorry, it looks like you'll need some help completing your order" after submitting order. Did at any point did it ask for your DOB? Mine did after submitting my password after recognizing account. Once I verify DOB, I get an email stating "Your Xfinity accounts are linked" even though at that step I'm not at the submit order screen.

Yeah, I said during checkout. To be clear, in an incognito window, search for your address on the Xfinity website as a new customer. Select the 1Gb plan, then begin the checkout process. At the point where it asks for contact info, choose the login button instead.
At any point did it ask for your DOB to verify after submitting your password. And once you did, did they email you a "Your Xfinity ID is now linked to another Xfinity account"? Trying to submit order after but getting a "We're sorry" screen and prompting me to contact them.
