It's worth noting this isn't the same as typical fiber internet - it's "fiber-powered". Namely, from their own details,
Xfinity Internet is powered by fiber and connected to premises by coaxial cable
One drawback to this is upload and download speeds are not symmetric - the headline advertised speed is the download speed, but upload speeds are typically significantly lower. For example, looking at the Broadband Facts of the 1 Gig plan in my area, they specify typical download speed at 1170 mbps and typical upload speed at 117 mbps. In the past in different areas, I've seen advertised typical upload speeds as low as 20-40 mbps.

That may be perfectly fine for many people, in which case this is a good deal. But make sure to take a look at the upload speed for your area and confirm that it's fast enough for your needs.

Yes don't log in initially, then look up your address, then choose I'm moving here as a new subscriber. Then contie towards the end and on the screen where it has you sign up for an account, choose login instead. But make sure you cancel your old account, and return equipment. Otherwise you'll be billed for two accounts concurrent.

I'm a current customer and my plan has that bank autopay discount too. But I can still manually pay with a credit card every month, with no surcharge, and the discount remains.

Does anyone know how long do we have to activate the free mobile line?
I see this when I login to my new Xfinity account "It's included for 1 year with 300 Mbps or faster Xfinity internet service — just to thank you for being a customer. Offer ends 12/16.". I thought I have more time to activate Frown

At any point did it ask for your DOB to verify after submitting your password. And once you did, did they email you a "Your Xfinity ID is now linked to another Xfinity account"? Trying to submit order after but getting a "We're sorry" screen and prompting me to contact them.
Same thing here. I don't know that it's working anymore.

are you sure? tried with another email and said you are already a customer at this address. Confused
Yes just did it my self 😁 saw that it came with equipment included and my router started acting up yesterday so I jumped on the deal .
What I did is
I went to the Xfinity website and enter my address when the prompt came up saying somebody already had service there. I just clicked on. I am new and moving here. After that I just entered the same info and email as my old Xfinity account and confirmed my credentials. If all goes to plan like all the other years . My old service will be cancelled automatically when I activate the new service and a new account number will be on my Xfinity portal. Good luck 👋😬

I followed the instructions that MozartA supplied for adding this plan to your account and delete the old plan and it worked flawlessly. Bravo for the post! Couple things - -Activating Peacock ProblemHas anyone had a problem activating the Peacock Premium? I had an olfactory peacock account briefly many years ago and the login info was the same for Xfinity and Peacock. When I picked up the modem at the Xfinity store, I asked the guy and he said to activate it, sign in with your Xfinity login info. It wouldn't let me do it since an old account already existed. I contacted Peacock and they were worthless and sent me to Xfinity and they said Peacock has to manually delete the old account. It got escalated and they are working on it.-$50 Gift CardI put the code in and it recognized it but I haven't received any info on it. I told the Xfifnty rep it was a virtual gift card and she said it can take 3 months to receive it. Anyone heard this? Thanks again, overall awesome deal.
I saw this tracker link early on in this thread, I have not yet tried to convert my $65/month account to the $50/month: https://www.xfinityincentivetracker.com/track

I plan to call them Monday to get the necessary info.
I have had similar situation and the call can do nothing. They just keep telling you the steps to get the pin in the app. They cannot make the pin on the call. Go to a local store, they can do everything. I wasted 2 days on the call and chat, and only takes a few minutes to solve it in the store.

I have no Xfinity stores near me, unfortunately

Can you post a link for that banner (if it is a generic URL)? I used to have that banner but it seems to have disappeared with all the account changes.

would you be able to check from a web browser as well? there should be a link since the Xfinity mobile app (at least on Android) is just a webview wrapper

I was able to get this work as an existing customer but setup has been a bit painful. Experience below - TLDR: If I could do it again, I probably just make a new account…
  • First I ported my Xfinity voice number out - took about 4 days.
  • I signed up for this promotion, continued through steps, and as previous post instructed, I simply logged in at end to link with current user ID.
  • Xfinity gives you a second account number and actually called to confirm cancellation of my old triple-play package account number (so far so good)
  • The new equipment arrived but I could not activate the modem as the Xfinity app is, designed to link to only 1 account at a time, was linked to my old account, and my new account was not yet active.
  • The activation is resolved by 2 calls to Xfinity but their service is painful. Quirks like address not passing to new account, fixed with CS, then showing as 2 duplicate addresses, and added difficulty with 2 accounts of getting modem into bridge mode, made talking with their reps all kinds of fun.
  • In fairness, two accounts is diverting from xfinity's standard process/script so I did not totally blame Xfinity reps for difficulties.
  • Since the change, I noticed that Xfinity stream no longer works on AppleTV since I no longer have a TV plan. Stream continues to work fine on mobile devices. This presents as an error but is an Xfinity design decision. (Found online - but support reps were unaware.)
  • I tried to add a Xumo box to close stream to TV gap but I cannot (yet) because my old account has not yet cleared the system. (This was confirmed by more calls to Xfinity and visits to their store.). I am hoping to get this bit resolved next week.

If you are talking about just the phone line, free line with 300Mbps or above has been going on for more than a year. I don't see that going away anytime soon.

I'm in the same boat. The only way I'm aware (in order to keep the same phone numbers) is to port out both lines to another mobile provider temporarily, then port them back in to the new Xfinity account. I spoke with a rep today about another issue who was very helpful, and said he's going to consult a friend who knows more about the mobile side and call me back.
Outside of your mobile lines issue, did the new gateway, Ultimate, and new tv boxes work out?

Yes and no. The new modem and 2 wireless TV boxes arrived and set up fairly easily. Internet service is just as good as before. However...

We noticed the new wireless TV boxes weren't quite as responsive as the wired ones, and the live TV pause function doesn't last nearly as long as it did before.

I called to ask about it, and the US-based agent agreed and said he would send 2 wired boxes to replace them. He also said the Ultimate package just changed to Premier, which means a slight increase in cost BUT goes from 20hrs cloud recording to 300hrs AND includes one TV box for no charge. New equipment to arrive Monday.

Then yesterday morning I realized we're missing some channels. NatGeo Wild, Science, and others say "subscription required". I spent over 2 hours on the phone with 4 agents yesterday trying to resolve it. 3 were clueless and actually made things worse (apparently one downgraded me from Premier to Core). The 4th was in Retention and was actually making progress including getting all services corrected and sent me the order text confirmation when the call DROPPED. Same channels still missing.

I decided to wait until I get the wired boxes tomorrow to see if that somehow fixes it. If not, I'll be calling again until I can get a US-based agent.

My wife is questioning whether all this hassle is worth saving $64/mo.

Couple things -

-Activating Peacock Problem

Has anyone had a problem activating the Peacock Premium? I had an olfactory peacock account briefly many years ago and the login info was the same for Xfinity and Peacock. -$50 Gift Card

I put the code in and it recognized it but I haven't received any info on it. I told the Xfifnty rep it was a virtual gift card and she said it can take 3 months to receive it. Anyone heard this?

Thanks again, overall awesome deal.
