This is not fiber internet! Same old coax. Very asymmetric connection with 1gbps down but only 40mbps up

Xfinity Internet is powered by fiber and connected to premises by coaxial cable
One drawback to this is upload and download speeds are not symmetric - the headline advertised speed is the download speed, but upload speeds are typically significantly lower. For example, looking at the Broadband Facts of the 1 Gig plan in my area, they specify typical download speed at 1170 mbps and typical upload speed at 117 mbps. In the past in different areas, I've seen advertised typical upload speeds as low as 20-40 mbps.
That may be perfectly fine for many people, in which case this is a good deal. But make sure to take a look at the upload speed for your area and confirm that it's fast enough for your needs.

Also do you need to provide a bill matching address or just ID/SSN to open a new acct?
Don't want/need the phone line though, is that the only way to get the prepaid $50?
I was told if you recently changed into a plan within the last 45 days then you can change again into this $50 deal. My mom was within that 45 day window on her (5) year (1) gig deal at $85 and was able to change into the $50 deal online as it showed up in her account when logged in under credentials. Put the 'new' 50 plan in her account and was able to check out all without changing any equipment or getting assigned a new account number, etc.

Everything worked smoothly. Now I pay 1gbps for $50/month. We paid 300mbps for $70/month previously. Thank you so much for posting such a great deal and various useful comments from other posters.
I know I'm being overcharged compared with other providers and rates I see advertised, however, I do not want to lose my longtime comcast email addresses (6 in family) if I switch my service to another provider or if I put my account in my wife's name.
How does my monthly charges compare with others? What advice would you suggest for lowering my monthly rate (I'd prefer to keep the internet land line as my cell reception (Yes, Xfinity Mobile) is poor. Same as all other major carriers since I seem to live in a dead zone. I've tried them all via either friends' phones and/or trial Sim testing. RSRP is -123dB... (terrible).
Thanks!
