It's worth noting this isn't the same as typical fiber internet - it's "fiber-powered". Namely, from their own details,
Xfinity Internet is powered by fiber and connected to premises by coaxial cable
One drawback to this is upload and download speeds are not symmetric - the headline advertised speed is the download speed, but upload speeds are typically significantly lower. For example, looking at the Broadband Facts of the 1 Gig plan in my area, they specify typical download speed at 1170 mbps and typical upload speed at 117 mbps. In the past in different areas, I've seen advertised typical upload speeds as low as 20-40 mbps.

That may be perfectly fine for many people, in which case this is a good deal. But make sure to take a look at the upload speed for your area and confirm that it's fast enough for your needs.

I'm a current customer and my plan has that bank autopay discount too. But I can still manually pay with a credit card every month, with no surcharge, and the discount remains.

Yes don't log in initially, then look up your address, then choose I'm moving here as a new subscriber. Then contie towards the end and on the screen where it has you sign up for an account, choose login instead. But make sure you cancel your old account, and return equipment. Otherwise you'll be billed for two accounts concurrent.

From previous, long time ago posts, that's doable. Just hard for me to do at this point cuz I have 3 phones in bill credits for 7 more months. They will add $20/mo I think, if you don't have internet.

I think the pricing might be regional since someone else posted the same deal last week for $70 instead of $50, I did check my area last week and it was $50 since then
Also you can get $50 gift card per service (Internet and mobile up to five lines) if you use a referral, but I'm not certain if the free line for this deal triggers $100 or only $50 for internet service but at the very least it's an extra $50, you can PM for a referral

FYI, $10 out of the $50 is dependent on setting up autopay with bank account (not credit card). So, it would be $60 otherwise. Also, upload speeds are around 100 Mbps over coax for this plan, and latency is around 14 milliseconds.

Yeah, I prefer symmetrical 300 Mbps over fiber than asymmetrical 1 Gbps over coax. Faster uploads (for work) and better latency (for online gaming). But that's just me.

99% of people won't really notice the difference, and even Xfinity's coax 200–300 Mbps plans are more than enough for most households.

PS: Xfinity does offer fiber internet in some areas, so one needs to check what is available in their neighborhood.

This depends on your area, in some neighborhoods they're already advertising 300/300mpbs, 500/500mpbs, 1/1gbps and 2/2gbps symmetrical speeds so I assume they're finally offering FTTH in order to compete with Att and verizon, not to say they were finally forced to get rid of data caps

Just set it up as a new account under a different name. They don't care.

What is this wifi equipment included? I have the latest docsis modem and a gigabit router. I don't really need any of their equipment. Also can I cancel my account at 430 pm eastern time and then have my parents sign up an hour later? With nobody coming to install it? My mom works from home and can't have no internet for days. Currently I have their 800 Meg plan for sixty bucks a month last 27 months. No contract. No phone included.

Me and my roommates swap internet ownership every 12 months or so, to keep getting the new customer bonus. The store once told me a new customer is defined as 9 months of no active service.
