Features:
  • Wide Application: This versatile drywall sander is suitable for lime walls and putty surfaces, ideal for DIY home projects, professional renovations, and construction work. ((For old popcorn ceilings, you must first use a handheld electric trowel polishing machine to smooth out the bumps, then use our drywall sander to sand it flat.)
  • 900W High-Efficiency Brushed Engine: The motor's performance is upgraded to 900W, equipped with a constant power module and overload protection. Compared to standard motors, it offers longer lifespan, stable operation, and increased efficiency. The 800-1800rpm stepless speed control meets various sanding needs.
  • Innovative Airflow Design: The three-inlet airflow system has been optimized, expanding the dust collection channels by four times, improving dust collection efficiency by 50%. The built-in hose allows for dust extraction and is compatible with multiple vacuum cleaners to keep your workspace clean.
  • All For Your Convenience: Weighing only 3.5KG, and greatly reducing labor intensity. 3:7 optimal weight distribution ratio effectively avoids imbalance. Lightweight and extendable pole allows for effortless sanding even in hard-to-reach areas. Double-layer LED strip provides full coverage lighting to ensure a clear view.
  • Complete & Practical Accessories: Equipped with a 215mm large sanding disc for fast sanding, a 360-degree dust brush for effective dust blocking, an S5 hex wrench, carbon brushes, dust bag, suction hose, sandpaper, user manual, sponge pad, and extension rod.

I think that's your problem. Even their own video shows that it can be hooked up to a vac. Even the most expensive Festool relies on a separate vacuum for suction.

Anyone have this? I bought one last week and it has barely to no suction power and dust was everywhere. I know some dust is expected but that bag barely puff up.

I didn't use a shop vac. The sander I got, it was built in. With adjustable nozzle that supposedly increase it decrease the suction

YT videos show it working well, maybe it's just defective, b/c chinesium quality control (could take it apart and check for debris blockage)

I've never worn one but I was dummy pole sanding.I can't breathe even in plain ol mask. It's so hot and stifling. I clean grain bins without a mask. It's FAR too hot in the summer in one of those.
I couldn't breathe in a mask either. Turns out I have a deviated septum and a very narrow airway. A month ago I had surgery and they fixed those things and my breathing is wow through my nose. Go to the doctor.

I don't have this model but I got a power sander similar last year when I finished the basement. It saved my arms, neck, and back immensely. Hooked it up to a shop vac w/ a cyclone device on top of a 5 gallon bucket to keep the dust down as much as possible.

My sister had the surgery. I don't have that, though.

For best results use a sanding net + vac. I have a Planex first gen I picked up off on festoolrecon.com for $410 in 2023. Just got around to using it to remove popcorn from ~1000 sqft ceiling (scraper first, presoak in vinegar mixture to get chunks out). Dust-free operation, excellent and consistent performance. Worth every penny, especially considering how expensive hiring out removal is.

I got a shop vac on sale during BF. With this I'll be able to start working on my bathroom. I've been wanting to sand down and and cover some mold spots on the ceiling with Kilz.

Wash the mold spores first. Use bleach or TSP powder in water than paint when dry.

Very interesting 🤔.

For many years, I have used a random orbital sander connected to a shop vac. How does this experience differ? How do the final results compare? Is it worth the cost of ownership when I already have the other setup?

I am genuinely intrigued.
