Totally agree. Diablo 2 was legendary. This game was okay. The seasons were super annoying bc you had to start over with your character. The last thing I want to do is spend 40 hours building up a character to turn around and create a new one. I have around 400 hours in Elden Ring and I would have quit playing a long time ago if I had to start over.
If you had spent 400 hours and also 50 bucks to play and buy their game, you are as much important as a guy who played ZERO minutes but also willing to pay 50 bucks to try it now.
That's why there will always be a reset button in most of these MMO online games, otherwise you will have a clear advantage over any new players, then they will never be able to keep attracting new customers.
D2 is an old game, that kind of grinding style is outdated (not the game content) and will never work in this era. The games in this era should be easy to pick up, plug and play and even it is extremely entertaining, customers are expected to move on after a short cycle and then you can also push out more DLC or even sequels.
That time is long gone - today it's corporate goons who made a career out of giving less and charging more in the name of profit, just like in every other industry.
I get it, you probably meant more the aspect that my saved progress transfers to both, I already understand that as I have the base game on gamepass at the moment, but I was hoping I could just buy one copy of of this and play it on others... which was the play anywhere feature I wanted.
