I had an Apple silicone case for an iPhone 13 and hated it. A "premium" case at a premium price and myself and the other person I knew that had it had material chipping off within 6 months of having them. Fingernails, keys, any semi-sharp edge gouged and damaged it.
Maybe they have improved the durability since then, but even at a discount I wouldn't be willing to try one again.

Seems to be well reviewed. Apple vastly improved on the fine woven case (which was a disaster) to the tech woven case so it's possible they've improved this case to in the past four years. But I agree the retail price is ridiculous. Even at this sale price it's still overpriced. But it's still a nice option for those that want the official Apple case.
The chipping like others have said happened to my case for iPhone 16, around the edges and the corners. I threw it away after about 7-8 months of use, thus, I didn't experience that "stickiness" other SDers have mentioned when surface became more sticky, drag increased and it was difficult to take it out the pocket and lint stuck to it. Mine just started to fall apart.
Maybe this isn't such a great deal if it doesn't last very long.
Any other recommendations for cases?
Spigen cases are my usual go-to for affordable and durable. I have one on my current phone and it protected the device from a drop from an e-bike going at a good clip with minimal scuffing.

I am more shocked they still want $50 for 16 Pro cases.. This is really something crazy to me. I really wanted to try Apple's own silicone case, but not at full price and with limited colors they have on Amazon, and stores stopped carrying them too.
