"Leatherette" This type of product should be banned from all applications, whether it's headphones, chairs, anything that has to have fake leather for some reason. It soon starts peeling and flaking, leaving little plastic debris all over the place. It's worth going out of the way to buy another product that doesn't have it just to avoid the hassle.

The HyperX Cloud III is a wired gaming headset that stands out for comfort, solid gaming performance, and replaceable earcups. The package includes soft cloth ear cups if the fake leather pads are not preferred, and the boom mic plugs into the earcup rather than flipping up. Long term durability looks better than older HyperX sets for some, though the white version may be harder to keep clean and the mic design is less convenient than flip up models. A practical pick at this price if you want a straightforward backup or everyday gaming headset.

Common Questions (4)

The black pads have been reported as not flaking, and the headset also comes with soft cloth ear cups if you want to avoid the fake-leather pads. The earcups are replaceable, which makes pad wear easier to deal with long term.

It is a solid budget headset, but one comment expects about a year of use, while another notes older HyperX Cloud II pads started flaking and the 3.5 mm connection became unstable after years of use. The Cloud III's replaceable earcups help extend usable life.

No, the mic does not flip up. The boom plugs into the earcup with a headphone-style TRS jack, so it is removable/adjustable rather than fixed in a flip-to-mute design.

Yes, it has been described as pretty comfortable and great for gaming. The white version may be harder to keep clean, so color choice matters if you want to avoid visible wear.

I grabbed a pair of these last week. Pretty comfortable. The white is a ittle concerning to keep white.

Christ walmarts deliver service is so awful. Said my package would be delivered last night, then it didn't show and they marked it as delivered anyway. Had to spend a half hour chatting just to be told a refund will take 10 business days and my package was lost in transport. Sounds like the delivery driver just stole it or something. Amazon is just so much better.

Calm down Nancy, the material on these doesnt flake like cheaper stuff. Ive had mine for years and theyre fine. Additionally they come with a set of soft cloth ear cups you can put on if you dont like the fake leather ones.

Had a set of Cloud 2s that I bought for my PC in 2019 and its about time to retire them. The ear cups started flaking off recently and its a bit annoying getting flakes on my ears. This is the right price I've been waiting for

My HyperX Cloud II has been flaking for a while, but I did get it eight years ago.EDIT: And the 3.5 mm connection is a bit unstable as well.

Same experience here.
