This 77 inch Panasonic Z8 is being framed as a strong value OLED with premium audio and picture processing at a lower price than comparable LG C5 deals. The built in Technics tuned speaker system, Dolby Vision and HDR10 plus support, natural color tuning, and strong upscaling for sub 4K content stand out, along with the 144 hertz panel and bright, high end feel. The main knocks are Fire TV, which is widely seen as clunky, ad heavy, and best bypassed with an external streamer, and the TV is also described as thick and weighty. A solid option if you want a feature rich OLED and can ignore the built in smart platform.

stick to your Vizio TV and firestick.

this aint for you.
Yeah but this ain't it either. Mediocre oled with g series going for around 2200 w/ extras. Oled is on borrowed time for the next 5 years or so anyway, Micro led is coming.

That implies that mini LED is even more so on borrowed time. Unfortunately, price drives tv purchasing and design decisions. Not quality of image. Too many "bigger is better"

I have a 77" LG C5 being delivered by Walmart this week to replace a 50" 10 year old plasma. $1917 less 15% credit card CB and 25% shopping cashback. I live in a remote area so could not get LG direct, Costco and a few other retailers to ship to me.

This Z8 would be $1679 delivered less 10% credit card CB and 15% shopping cashback. I'm not confident I'm getting the 25% or 15% shopping cash back though.

I have a 8 year old Sonos sound bar. The TV will generally be for streaming. A built in tv tuner would be an added bonus. Room is bright-ish but most watching is during night. I'm leaning towards following through with the C5 but should I consider the Z8 instead? The C5 was supposed to be delivered last week so I don't feel too bad about returning...

And they used the garbage OS. I can't imagine having a firetv oled. Google is so much smoother and easier.
Who cares if you get a good deal get a Roku or Google box or Apple TV lnfao . Once you configure your settings all you do is change maybe 1 mode to the other . Os of tv should be the last thing you think about- so long there's no bad bugs that affect the picture

My direct google os makes things significantly easier than having a secondary box. Plus I don't trust amazon, I don't trust google either but Amazon is actively adding ads to devices that didn't have them before or at least non related ads for items people paid full price for, not ad supported.

All of the os now have ads lol including Samsung. Again pay several hundred dollars for something so simple. You can also legit not connect the tv to the internet you know that? Just don't put your WiFi in- use a setup box done. No ads no way for Amazon to talk to the tv etc This is a non issue . I have a Samsung and lg and even though they're usually riddled with ads and plugs I never see them no internet. If I update then remove

The whole beauty of an OLED is the thinness of the screen when viewed from the side! This is THICK for an OLED Wink Samsung really nailed it with their S95F OLED models.
How thin does a TV need to be? I couldn't care less even if my TV was 6 inches thick (although that would probably be a really heavy TV, which wouldn't be great).

I have the entry-level Panasonic Z85A 55" OLED tv and I'm honestly quite confused - I also have a 48" Samsung S90D (which is their high-end stuff and supposedly one of the brightest OLED's you can get) but when watching the same Youtube HDR content at night, the Panasonic looks noticeably brighter than the Samsung (so the Panasonic looks better). I've adjusted all the settings and the "budget" Panasonic OLED outshines my high-end Samsung S90D. I love watching these "Tokyo night walk" HDR videos and the way the neon signs look on the Panasonic puts a huge smile on my face.

Ordered 77 inch LG B5 recently. Is this Panasonic $400 better?
Most definitely, the b5 is good but low tier, this is mid-high tier and they make a fantastic OLED

When you install tvs for a living and set them up, this statement is absolutely not true. We have many problems setting up google tvs, from bricked updates etc, fire tvs take awhile to setup but not bad, but thats why you slap a apple tv on it. Never use a tvs OS and wear down the internals..

The Panasonic will be much brighter most likely.Edit: to the genius who down voted me, the B series is the dimmest OLED of the major brands so sorry if that offends you.
Yes but this b5 is the best iteration yet, its a VERY solid tv. If I was broke I would buy it on a killer sale, but would rather a c4/c5.

This is made by TCL i believe. A lot of the traditional TV manufactures have sold that sector to Chinese. Philips, Panasonic etc.
Bro you are so off lmao, and the OLED panel is from LG
