I was "forced" to buy one for school. Never liked it. Way too pricy for what it does.

TI somehow has a monopoly on the graphing calculators used in school. Never really understood if there was something shady going on like kickbacks, but it seems schools/teachers only recommend to use the TI-84 line of calculators. Back in the day, I recall Casio made some nice graphing calculators that I thought were better.

I got a 4.0 GPA in AS and 3.759 GPA in BS and attribute part of the success to this calculator, even though most exams didn't allow it..

are you really young? when i got it, cellphones were still clam shell. the ti 89 felt amazing. i got super good at pressing the buttons on it. like 10 years later i tried using it again and it felt so clunky. i finally sold it when i realized i was thinking of it with rose tinted glasses. i kept it with me when i moved around for years thinking it could still be useful. finally sold it for 30 bucks on ebay. i bought it used for like 70 too.

Basically, teachers do not want to spend their time teaching students 20 different calculator types. Plus, only a handful of calculators are approved for standardized tests, so teachers have to use one of these versions. This locks in the monopoly.

why would this calculator be the thing that helped you. the reason why it's priced so high is because school did allow it and they allowed it because it's a crippled device.

You know I gotta hand it to them, the prices on these things have not changed much in the last 15 years. I paid 130 for my Ti-84 plus C silver edition.
Sold it for 85 after college, the color ones hold value pretty well.

Can't tell if you can get Python running on this, as you can with the Python Edition.
