It always seems grotesque to not include the Animatrix, which expands the universe and is somehow as equally amazing and compelling as the first Matrix... In favor of including the last, which seems hellbent on destroying any relevance the franchise ever had.

Naaaaaaaa, I love that Lana went there to provide meta-commentary on the massive film studios (WB) that just destroy entire beloved franchises with absurd expectations. She also nicely commented on all the armchair experts who only know of the flashy bits of The Matrix without actually delving anywhere past surface-level content. You have to give respect where its due.


But I agree with your assessment completely on the travesty that is downplaying The Animatrix.
