Once the show caught up to the books and had to create it's own stories the show completely sunk and we saw what type of talent that David Benioff and DB Weiss actually had.

Season 8 was so bad that I wished I had never watched any of the previous seasons. It completely ruined the series. It was pointless. A waste of my time.

For me, it was 4 great seasons.

Then 2 lackluster seasons, with iffy writing, but at least some episodes felt up to par.

After that... well... not so good...

I'd want to buy a 4 season set of GOT, or at most 6. The last two seasons we can pretend doesn't exist.

Looking back at this, I remember the first 5 or 6 seasons were just so damn good. The treachery, the betrayals, the hero/villain arcs, rooting for the underdogs, the witty dialog, sprinkling of spicy scenes - it was all there.

First 3 seasons are almost impeccable, likely the best long-form storytelling we've gotten from television ever. Season 4 is still quite good with a few small cracks showing in the overall planning.

Season 5 is when the show becomes erratic and the dip in quality begins. The sheer momentum of the prior seasons carry its value for a couple seasons when all the wheels fall off completely by the end.

This is true.
I got this set last yr for the same price, found no digital copy working. Good set for what it is, wish it includes the DC.

I wish at least one state (like California or New York) would let consumers sue retailers for selling it with a "digital copy" which does not exist.

Once they get sued by a state attorney the retailers and studios will clean this crap up for everyone.

The first two seasons were excellent. Then it started going downhill and turning into all the other nonsense slop that's on TV.

they should come up with a 4 seasons set, or at most a 6 seasons set, will sell way better.

Literally the worst final season to a TV series ever.

Yes, more than Sopranos.

Yes, more than Dexter.

Yes, more than Lost.

GoT is in a league of its own with how bad the ending is. And it's not even just the writing. The entire production quality and visuals of the final season is absolute garbage (when prior seasons had such amazing scenes). I feel horrible for the actors, they didn't deserve to go out like that.

Once the book is out, HBO should just redo season 8 and pretend this version never existed.

And yes they can do that. They act as if they never had Westworld

I remember being shocked when S1 concluded. Seasons 1-4 are truly incredible, and by then, want to see more through season seven.

I will never understand S8. I can't take "winter is coming" seriously, and her journey was all for nought.
