Horrible deal. Paid $99 on Amazon in January of 2025. Price intelligence is a lie.

I have this one as well as the cobalt equivalent. I prefer this one as the case and drawers actually work well. It's not the same craftsman as years ago, but good enough for 90% of people.

is it the exact same set??? they have been bundling these things slightly different even in the same year, i bought mine for 99$ a few years back.. think 2019, maybe 2020

that had different, more wrenches and extra sockets, this one i see it added more stuff than the last set that took out wrenches and put in extra random bits+2 extra allen wrench sets

this set has that and the wrenches my set had and stubby wrenches... idk if i would call that an improvement since its 30 dollars more but i can say its better than the last 99$ set i saw 2 years ago that took out a lot of the actual useful stuff that my model set had

It's not a lie, but more like misdirection.
The set we all bought was $99 was called " New 230 Piece Set".

It's this one: https://a.co/d/eWkk3Nv

I would not pay more than $100 for either set, it's got a lot of duplicates and some people claimed it is missing some of the important sizes or sockets, I didn't care I just needed something that can finally keep everything in one place when it comes to sockets, wrenches and bits and pieces.
I'm happy with $100 version and would love it if SD or someone else could explain the difference for those interested in buying so they can decide if it's worth the extra $30.

I agree...the $99 version I bought back in May is fantastic, just for the reason of everything being so well organized.

Would you mind elaborating? I have the set from a few years back and its the best portable set I've ever owned. Everything stays put, but is easy to get out. Has some extra room for a few tools and has been durable. I put it on top of a 2 drawer versastack for a little extra storage. I know that set isnt available anymore, but what makes this one better than the others available now?

There is 9% cashback on tools at Lowes through active junky, which is unheard of for Lowes. Ends up around $11 cashback.

The duplicates seem to be across drive sizes and I only see a single skip (20mm) in Metric all the way to 24mm. I wouldn't consider it a duplicate unless it was the same type and size of drive for a socket. There are reasons you would want say a 12mm in both 1/4" and 3/8" as well as deep socket vs. normal socket too.

This set has some larger Sockets (up to 24mm and 1 1/4") as well as it has the hex and torx sockets which are great. It also has a few extra small combination wrenches that can be pretty helpful.

I don't think I'd have buyer's remorse for the $99 set if I had it... but I'd spend the extra 30 on this one as the other pieces would cost a lot more than that to get them separately if I needed them.

Do yourself a favor and save $75 bucks.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074MFYGSF
This one has the same amount of ratchets and sockets.
Minus the added "filler" items...aka useless bits to make it look "huge" LOL
And a flip carry case is way more practical than those big drawer boxes.
Cheers!

Less filler like bits, more useful stuff like wrenches.

No, do yourself a favor and _don't_ save $75. Significantly reduced quality on that Amazon set
