It sounds pretty slick on paper, just keep in mind some considerations:

- Phone sales tax- due at sign up.
- Monthly Taxes. Like someone mentioned can be as high as $9/line per month
- Activation fees. Apparently $40 per line, but maybe you can get waived?
- Verizon has historically said allow 1-2 billing cycles for discounts to appear. Well, if they don't appear be prepared to spend multiple calls and hours to try and get them to honor their agreement.
- This service plan is the lowest unlimited so don't get the ultra wideband (faster 5g) or hot spot.
- to take full advantage of the discount you have to keep the lines for 3 years. That's a long time to be locked in. Theoretical scenario: if you pulled all 4 lines out after 2 years would owe around $1500 for the phone pay offs.

While a good price, I think they are trying to get you to sign up, and then bc you'll be frustrated with the lower plan will upgrade at a significant cost ($40/line instead of $25).

It's equivalent to most Verizon-based MVNOs and Visible's lowest tier.
This reddit post [reddit.com] explains data prioritization for the 3 major carriers and the MVNOs on them.

Here's the taxes for my CA city if anyone's interested

Fed Universal Service Charge: $0.41
Regulatory Charge: $0.21
Admin & Telco Recovery Charge: $3.78
CA State 911 Surcharge: $0.41
CA State 988 Surcharge: $0.08
CA Universal Service PPP Fee: $0.90
Emerg Comm Acc Tax: $3.22
City UUT: $0.28
Total charges per line = $9.29

It's still a really good deal if you're in the market for new iPhones

It would still be financed after 60 days, though? Or does the unlock effectively make it not financed anymore?

It's financed until you pay it off (and lose the remaining bill credits) effectively defeating the "free" phone from this deal.

On sites like Swappa you would be violating their T&Cs as they don't allow the sale of financed devices.

Buyer's take on risk that the seller continues to maintain the financing. While phones do not have as many implications would you buy a used car that was still financed by the seller?

Anyone experienced the first bill is higher than the next one ? If so, what to do to get it back to normal ?
I think it might be due to the first bill being more than a month? I think my first bill isnt due till Jan 30.

Also, make sure you have autopay set up, using a bank. If using the app, click on manually enter bank info, then put in your check info.

During online order give correct numbers to be ported but check the box that you currently do not have port pin and account numbers. This way once you get the phones you can port online.

I read thru the whole thread. Didn't see a good answer on porting. Should I port in the beginning when i order or after? I see people have problem with porting. But I didn't see answer if you can port after you activate the new lines.

I just returned from a Verizon store and I received a very good deal. I took my T-Mobile bill with me, and the sales rep applied the following discounts:
National Discount Marker: $0.00
National Discount (3+ Lines): −$20.00
"Better Deal" for 4+ Phones: −$20.00
Promotional Credit: −$45.00 per month for 36 months
This brings my monthly bill to $101.21 before AutoPay, and $61.21 after AutoPay.
No trade-in required or anything. I got the phones, and my receipt shows the above discounts.
I'm concerned that the deal I got is too good to be true and wondering if there's any hidden catch that I'm missing.
Did they say what the $45 promo is for?

Assuming this has already been answered, but is anyone else not seeing the $25 a month for each of the 4 lines on the first bill that's emailed to you after checkout?

I see $40 per line and the $30.55 credit for iPhones, but not the discount for the unlimited welcome plan.

Right. If I do it, I'm planning to stick with verizon for 3 years. I get that's part of the deal - and it's my credit on the hook supporting the deal. But I'm not interested in 4 phones for our selves, so this is attractive only if I can resell the phones we don't need. But if being financed makes the phones not sellable once they are unlocked (or selling them violates Verizon's terms) then that's an issue for me.

I guess it depends - using the car analogy - if I get the car title without leins on it, then I don't really care that the seller borrowed money on it. But if the seller's bank still holds the title (and, thus, presumably the right to reposes my car if the seller stops making payments) then it would matter to me. I'm not sure which situation this is.

I know that I'm going to pay off the financing - and that I'm obligated to. But if being financed makes the phones not sellable once they are unlocked (or selling them violates Verizon's terms) then that's an issue for me.

While financed the phone has a "lien" on it. With Verizon their SIM unlocking policy is not tied to device financing. They auto unlock 60 days after activiation. If you stopped the device payments, e.g. do not pay it off if you leave before 3 years Verizon will black list the device and the buyer is SOL.

You are not violating any Verizon terms. It is an ethical dilemma. Sites like Swappa will not allow you to sell a financed devices. On Ebay, FB, or other marketplaces feel free to disclose that the device is financed and you "promise" to meet the financial agreements, i.e. maintain future payments or pay off the balance when you're required to.

Who the heck would pay money for a phone that is still being financed through the carrier and which could be shut off and blacklisted at any time?

Indeed bro. Based on several posters in this thread, unwittingly or not, there appears to be intention.

Their verbiage says it might take 1-2 billing cycles for the credits to kick in so you might see huge bills for a couple of months but they credit those back eventually. What is the Promotional Credit you received of −$45.00 ?
Great deal. Did you also quality for the $300 gift card for in-store purchase?
