- Phone sales tax- due at sign up.
- Monthly Taxes. Like someone mentioned can be as high as $9/line per month
- Activation fees. Apparently $40 per line, but maybe you can get waived?
- Verizon has historically said allow 1-2 billing cycles for discounts to appear. Well, if they don't appear be prepared to spend multiple calls and hours to try and get them to honor their agreement.
- This service plan is the lowest unlimited so don't get the ultra wideband (faster 5g) or hot spot.
- to take full advantage of the discount you have to keep the lines for 3 years. That's a long time to be locked in. Theoretical scenario: if you pulled all 4 lines out after 2 years would owe around $1500 for the phone pay offs.
While a good price, I think they are trying to get you to sign up, and then bc you'll be frustrated with the lower plan will upgrade at a significant cost ($40/line instead of $25).
This reddit post [reddit.com] explains data prioritization for the 3 major carriers and the MVNOs on them.
Fed Universal Service Charge: $0.41
Regulatory Charge: $0.21
Admin & Telco Recovery Charge: $3.78
CA State 911 Surcharge: $0.41
CA State 988 Surcharge: $0.08
CA Universal Service PPP Fee: $0.90
Emerg Comm Acc Tax: $3.22
City UUT: $0.28
Total charges per line = $9.29
It's still a really good deal if you're in the market for new iPhones

also did not get the autopay discount for the first month, maybe because I activated one week after getting the phones. could've at least pro-rated the discount as I enrolled in it the first day after activating.
going into store is not necessary. i got the extra 65 over the phone but must have the right agent (and need to do the bill upload thing). it pays to walk away then call back and speak to someone else preferably inside sales (vs customer service).
Lesson learned on my end. I tried the online chat only three different times and was not able to get the rep to stack the discounts. phone or in person from now on.
@jjays - can you confirm the below numbers please? This seems almost too good to be true and I want to be clear when I go in-store and talk to them. From what I understand,
$130 for 5 lines (this already includes 20 national) 4 new phones and no trade-in
-20 better deal (got with AI scan)
-45 promotional credit (is this applied by store rep or is this result of AI scan as well?)
-30 BYOD for one line (do you know how many lines we can get with BYOD discount?)

I was able to get all three discounts:
$20/month National Discount
$20/month "Better" discount
$45/month discount
I think the key is the person has to be inside sales. The person wouldnt budge on the $300 bill credit but said it was not their dept and I would have to call CS and ask. Since the first agent offered it to me, hopefully I am good. She also said she would waive activation fees but seemed not as committal to this towards the end. If anyone has advise for the $300 and activation fees, let me know. Hope this helps!
Chat - The Chat Rep offered the same Phone Plans as on the website (i.e. 4 lines for $100). They would only waive the Activation Fees on 4 phone lines ($160), but not 3 additional devices (the Free Apple Watches and iPad up to $500). The credit toward an iPhone 17 Pro Max was only $1,020 instead of $1,100. They offered the $20/month National Discount, but no $20/month "Better" discount or $45/month discount. They did offer 1 $300 Digital Gift Card. They also had the free iPhone 16 Pro Max deal up to $1,300 with the same discounts/promos. I passed.
Store - The Store rep offered the same as the Chat Rep except the iPhone 17 Pro Max credit as $1,100, they offered the $45/month (no $20/month "Better" discount) and to waive all 7 Activation Fees (so an additional $120 compated to Chat for a total of $280) and no $300 Digital Gift Card (or other credit in lieu of the Gift Card). They did not hav as good of a promo on the iPhone 16 Pro Max. I passed.
Phone (2nd Try) - The 1st attempt via Phone later in the evening got foreign support (sounded like an Indian Rep and a Filipino Supervisor). They would not offer all the same discounts as the Store. Basically, the offer was the same as Chat. I called again in the evening, but during work hours and got an American Support Rep. They agreed to match the Chat offer, but to waive all 7 Activation Fees (will be waived on the 1st Bill), apply the $45/month discount and even looked into the $20/month "Better" discount and was surprised when it stacked. She also agreed to apply a $300 credit to my 1st Bill in lieu of the $300 Gift Card. She confirmed the waiver of the Activation Fees and $300 credit via a separate email and said if I have an issues with those to contact her back. I decided to move forward and got the following:
$20/month National Discount
$20/month "Better" discount
$45/month discount
Credit for iPhone 17 Pro Max = $1,020
Credits for 3 iPhone 17 Pro Phones = $1,100 x 3
Credits for 2 Apple Watches and 1 iPad = $500 x 3
Phone Plan for 2 Lines on Unlimited Ultimate @ $50 and 2 Lines on Unlimited Welcome @ $25 = $150/month after Auto Bill/Auto Pay.
I will update when I receive the devices and get my 1st Bill and can confirm that the pricing and credits were applied.
What is the 'name' of the $45 discount so we can reference it properly, and I'm hearing some reps say it doesn't stack with the $20 'national offer' and $20 'better plan'. Also, these 3 discounts total to $85, but some of you mentioned $65 off so just so I understand it, maybe 2 of them stack and 1 of them doesn't?
Nice work guys, a few questions:

On another note, I'm getting nervous on the $300 first bill credit I was promised. I am talking to customer service now and they are telling me that bc they cant pull up my account (havent created since I dont have devices) they cant mark this so he is creating a note on my order. If they start giving me a hard time after the fact, is there anyone I can complain to?
