Yeah, I guess they didn't like that I pointed out that this product is from a Chinese company with a website that doesn't work and wants you to install their shady app with access to your Google account. They didn't like that I suggested using a Fire tablet with Fire Toolbox instead so you can install whatever Play store apps you want and turn that into the same thing as this essentially.

Getting that ref $ is more important that the user safety of SDers apparently, or giving you control over the devices that we pay money to own. Capitalism go brrrrrrr

The photos require subscription, the recipe feature and meals, rewards and the magic scan feature as well. The magic scan was what initially sold me. You can upload a doc of a full to-do list or calendar date list and it auto populates it into the calendar on the set days. My little one for his preschool we got a paper with the full year calendar in just a list date line items, so would have been ideal. But realized its behind the paywall unfortunately.

I have several of these digital frames from 10 inch to 32 inch versions. All most all of them are hackable and run android 4.4 through android 10. Best deals are buying them from amazon resale when they have additional coupons. The best ones I have found are from company called 'Changing Touch' as it has a battery and runs android 14 with google playstore.

If it needs an app to work, it's stealing your data.

I guess you can do the pretty much the same thing using one of those AIs. Upload a photo and ask it to create ICS files for each event then upload ICS files to your calendar? If you use google account, I think you can just ask it to add entries to your google calendar?

I have this Dragon Touch 32-inch non touch - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DHRSGR19?th=1 which I got during Amazon Resale promotion for $280.
Another option is to go for this 21.5 inch with touchscreen, currently selling for $167 from Resale - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...7EE7U53NWQ. But I got it for $130 also during the resale promotion. This one looks very elegant, has touchscreen.
Both can be hacked to run sideloaded apps.
Thanks so much I'll research them and will keep an eye out!

Can you install Android apps and is it slow?
I didn't immediately see an easy way to install apps but also didn't try. The system it is running operates without issue. I'm mainly using it as a glorified wall calendar and it quickly populated my calendar events I sent from my phone.

Same coupon worked for the 15.6" to bring it down to $120
I purchased the skylight for $270 from Sams Club on Black Friday and so far not impressed with it at all. Its a glorified digital photo frame (subscription needed)
This looks like it can do all the same things, but no subscription needed and a fraction of the cost. Willing to give it a try for only $120 so I can return the skylight
Skylight is not perfect. But I will say...being able to forward an email or PDF full of events and getting it dropped into the calendar is pretty awesome. Wifey and I have a hard time remembering to put stuff in the calendar because there are always other things competing for our time and attention. But for sure we have 5 seconds to forward an email.
I also think the interface is really good. It's easy enough a 5 year old can track their chores and routines.

My friend has a 32" skylight and it's cool, but I noticed the Cozyla is above and beyond (without a subscription) what Skylight does.

Regarding this deal, 10 inches is 4 inches bigger than my phone. You'd be paying for a glorified photoframe.
I hope Cozyla is better. It's like $800.

Not really a project. Just add Google Play, etc. using Fire Toolbox, then just run Google calendar and leave it as your home.

Limited by fire tablet size. I like the 21 inch here.
