About this item
- The ultimate Dolby Atmos experience: The lateral and overhead channels in Arc Ultra and both Era 300 speakers immerse you an an all-encompassing spatial audio soundstage. You'll hear planes as if they're flying above, sense footsteps moving across the room, and feel like you're inside your music.
- Feel the bass: Experience every rumble, roar, and beat you've been missing with clean, pulse-pounding bass. Sub 4 takes over the lowest frequencies so paired speakers are free to focus on midrange and high frequencies so everything sounds even clearer.
Community Reviews
Sonos Arc Ultra with Sub 4 and Era 300s is a premium surround package that stands out for easy setup, clean living room integration, and strong movie and music playback in open spaces. The Era 300s are included here, and the black version is already down to low stock, with the same price reportedly available direct from Sonos. The main tradeoff is that this is still a virtual Atmos system, so it will not match a full receiver and speaker setup, and long term app reliability has been a concern for some. A good fit if convenience matters more than chasing the absolute best home theater performance.
Common Questions (5)
In an open living room, the Arc Ultra with Sub and Era 300s can fill the space well and sound good for movies and music. It is also described as a strong choice for people who want surround sound without the clutter of a full separates system.
Yes. The setup is described as plug in, use the app, run Trueplay, and you are done, which is much easier than measuring, calibration, and speaker placement for a receiver system.
This bundle includes the Era 300 speakers. The Costco version mentioned in the thread does not include Era 300s and instead sells Era 100 speakers.
It can. One report says an Arc began disconnecting from the app after several software updates and needed factory resets to work again, and another says a Sonos One no longer works with the current app.
No clear confirmation appears in the thread. The question is raised because one wired component can affect the system's network behavior, but no comment here confirms that Era 300s force the entire setup onto Wi‑Fi or keep it fully wired.

I know, I know - the complete home theater would sound better, but SONOS comes close *and* it's so much easier to set up.
Nothing will replace actual speakers setup, even cheapest will outperform soundbars.
I'm not an audiophile, and I greatly prefer the Sonos setup. If you're smart with your purchases you can get a full Sonos setup way under MSRP (either through sales, or with refurb purchases). It's extremely easy to setup (way, way easier to setup than a receiver system; plug 'em in, set them up in the app, run Trueplay, and you're good to go), sounds terrific, and I honestly can't tell the difference between my Sonos setup and my former receiver setup.
Yes these are easier to set up and can be more aesthetically pleasing, that is what you are actually paying for.
You are getting a simulation of Atmos surround.
If you want to believe you're actually getting Atmos, no argument/debate there, that is your prerogative.
i went back to a receiver and speaker set up. it takes up more space, but it sounds better and it's so much more reliable.
i also have a sonos one that doesn't work with the current app. i'm sure there's a way to get it working. i just don't have the time and patience to figure out, to possibly have it break again with another update
i might just be getting old, but i'm done with sonos.
That's because you didn't set up your speaker system properly.

no problem with sonos
All that "blah blah blah" is why people think it's close(90%)!
Physics alone tells you one cannot do what the other can.
If you want to believe a soundbar defies physics by 90%, no debate there!

That's an apples n oranges comparison.
This is not capable of providing anywhere close to the performance of what a speaker based surround is capable of, especially a "Atmos" one!
Improper implementation is often the reason people think they are close.
