I bought this on sale for I think the same price in May. I'm almost out. It's relatively bland but doesn't taste bad. It's just isolate with thankfully not too much flavor
or fake sugar. I try to avoid sucralose but my go to ON protein powder is too expensive and I'm not a pro body builder.

Hands down the worst tasting protein I have ever had in 20+ years of supplementation, and I'll down anything but this was rough. It also should come with a huge xylitol warning for anyone sensitive, it can be gut wrenching. If you want to wait the unflavored (which obviously is xylitol free) goes this low and is excellent if you flavor your own.
Can't be worse than that Colossal crap that was on sale a little while ago.

Thank you so much.
I have xylitol gum every day and have never had any gas or distress but I also actually eat fiber.

Bland not overly sweet, I rate this good to great for my uses.

This. I have masked it with everything and the bad taste still comes out. Will never buy again.

This tastes like shit but was probably one of the best protein powders I've ever bought. I'm lactose intolerant but never had any problems digesting this.

I bought this, and the bag tears easily from the weight (leaking in box). Be ready to transfer it to another container. It isn't the best taste by itself, but I mix it up with yogurt, and I find it pretty good that way. Got it for s&s $84 price.

3.7 stars on 126 reviews. Not sure if I am committed enough to consume 10lbs of this but the price is good. I'm not super picky but can any of you give an honest review on this brand/flavor?
NOW makes the best quality whey isolate that doesn't cost $20 or more per pound.

You can tell because it's fluffy and tends to clump as you scoop it. This means the proteins haven't been completely denatured in processing. Most whey pours like a bag of sand, which means the proteins have been denatured.

People say NOW "tastes bad" because it isn't blasted with giant amounts of sucralose, Ace-K, or any of the other synthetic diet sweeteners. The flavor is relatively subtle, All it has is a little bit of xylitol, so it's far less sweet. It's also way better for you because of this.

If you want it to taste like typical GAINZZZZZ brand, just dump in a bunch of Splenda. But I'm not a child and don't demand that my protein powder taste like dessert. NOW unflavored just tastes like very weak skim milk, as it should, and the flavored just tastes like slightly vanilla-ish skim milk.

Most other unflavored protein tastes terrible, because the proteins are heavily denatured and they have to blast it with synthetic flavors in order to cover up the nasty taste.

1) whey protein goes much better in greek yogurt to make chocolate pudding than it does with water or milk
2) buy some Herseys cocoa powder and add 1 tablespoon to your bowl of pudding. Not only does it make it taste better, the unsweetened cacao is a great antioxidant
3) still need a little more flavor? Add a little salt to your pudding

How does this flavor taste?
For me it had an odd coffee like bitter taste. It wasn't awful but I couldn't drink it with just water.

It tastes like mud. Literally the worst tasting protein I ever had. Not even remotely reminds chocolate. I bought it 6 months ago and had to grind through it. Will never buy again.

Yes, the other posts about the flavor is true. The first time I tasted this protein powder my heart sank. It was so off putting and weird tasting, that I felt like I just blew $100. It was TERRIBLE! Well, being one to not waste money, the next day I gave it another go. I put one scoop in my black coffee in the morning. Still tasted awful. But wasn't as shocking as the first day. Well, here we are almost a month later, and I do not taste the bad taste anymore. Each day, my system got desensitized to the unusual taste, and now it's completely fine, in fact, almost lacking in any flavor. Just purchased another bag due to the ease of dissolving in hot coffee without any clumping. I've had no adverse reactions other than the initial taste which doesn't even register to my palette anymore.
Buy this if you are willing to push through the first week or two of taste sensitivity. It's a great quality protein powder when all is said and done especially when whey isolate prices are bonkers. I have no issue buying this specific whey isolate protein powder again when prices are below $10/pound.
