You have to manually update it yourself with a PC, just an FYI from somebody that owns it, and you have to be a little more tech savvy than the average bear, because updating it is a little complicated, and this console can be bricked pretty easily. To the point where their new handheld "Go" version that just came out does all of it's updates over Wi-Fi.

It wasn't that bad, just watch a YouTube video and follow along, I also loaded a bunch of extra roms, everything was easy, but I only paid $25 for mine on eBay, check there first.
Yeah, I got mine from Costco when they were selling them. They got down to $10 at my local store because nobody wanted them. And, it was a pretty rough console before the updates. I also think that some fan updates were made to unlock the ability to play even more consoles, but I have never tried those updates.
