WOW! I've not seen so much bad/mis-information in one post for a long time! You instruct people to get a LaserJet but don't say why.

LaserJet is a brand from HP...did you mean an HP printer or just any laser printer? I ask because for the last few years, HP had locked their printers to where you are FORCED to buy HP toner and ink -- your claim of buying "generic toner" is not valid any more. It will not work. Did you know this inkjet is a COLOR printer? Are you suggesting people go find a used $50 COLOR laser printer? What if you want to print photos? Photos suck on a laser printer. Since you didn't say why you hate inkjets, I will assume you remember way back when ink cartridges would clog and cost a fotrune. I will let you know that printers like this use ink tanks and "refills" are just bottles of ink. You can use OEM ink or you can use generic ink, but either way it's very economical. They also come with 2 years of ink (average usage) in the box.

So if you can clarify why people should buy a used B/W LaserJet over a COLOR inkjet, it might help people make a better decision.

The tanks are great. But there's a cleaner part that needs to be replaced "replacement cartridge". Just be aware.

They're like $450 man, I'm not spending that on a dang printer that's financially irresponsible

Almost all inkjets have that, whether a tank or a cartridge style inkjet. It's a maintenance tray/tank that is used to collect the ink used during the cleaning cycle on the printhead. Most of the time it's too much work to even replace it and not sure on this model if it's even user replaceable or not.

Agree, ZERO interest in a unit without one (auto duplex) If MSRP on this was $150 I'd understand, but it is $249, some probably did pay $200+ at some point. They got ripped off.

I got mine. FYI, generic replacement ink is around $30 for all 4 bottles / colors at Amazon.
You can replace one or both printheads if needed. From Canon - Black BH-20 Print Head $29 / Color CH-20 Print Head $39 ...... MC-G04 Maintenance Cartridge $12 when needed. You may find cheaper generic.

Sorry, you don't. This already is a color ink jet. You have a different model. Canon makes dozens of different models, in b/w and color, ink jet and laser, in all price points. Do your research before buying and you can get a good one. I have the big brother of this one, the g3290 which has duplex printing and I've been pretty happy with it. Going on 1.5 years already with the original inks.

It's gone. The $109 deal was sold/shipped by Amazon. Now, it shows $139 and under "New & Used (29)", the cheapest is $139 from Adorama. None are listed as shipped and sold by Amazon. I think they ran out of stock because even when they were in stock, delivery was before DEC 30.
