soldered RAM and a low quality 1080p 144 Hz touchscreen on a 17 inch panel. Too dim, too much glare, and the picture looks boo boo. Easy pass

155h Cpu is old tech, not energy efficient.

I'm not familiar with ThinkPad, but isn't this the pre latest generation?
All other specs are very high for this model.
Could you elaborate more, please?

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

Also, FYI the listing is wrong. Best Buy shows this as a 2K screen up top, but the actual specs say 1920x1080. This is just 1080p, not 2K. Don't buy it expecting a 2560x1440 display

It's not a gaming laptop, plus 1080p and 400 nits isn't bad at all. It's perfect for anyone that streams video, uses productivity apps, or surfs the web. It has some crucial things too, backlit keyboard, 6 cell battery (enough battery life to use it unplugged), and 16GB RAM. That is plenty of RAM for most people, no need to upgrade. The CPU is fast too, I don't get why people are knocking this. A couple of years ago I was in the market for something like this for my mom, I paid 1K for something similar so I think this is a good price on a large screen laptop.

I'm not a fan of HP, but they also have this open box for $566 excellent condition. https://www.bestbuy.com/product/h...=excellent

It's open box, so that in itself is a crap shoot. The price is very good for that model though. I'm not huge on the screen size, but the rest of the specs are great, especially at that price. If you are willing to risk the odds on the open box, you could have a pretty good deal on your hands.
