Samsung's S90F OLED is drawing attention as a bright, colorful QD OLED TV that stands out for gaming, upscaling, and strong SDR and HDR performance. The 77 inch model is repeatedly described as the latest model year at a standout price, with some checkout totals landing around $1,530 before tax and lower after stacked discounts. Main tradeoffs are Dolby Vision support, Samsung's DTS and app quirks, and return or warranty hassles that can erase some of the savings.
Shoppers comparing premium 77-inch OLEDs, because the 77-inch model is QD-OLED and is repeatedly described as a strong value versus higher-priced alternatives.
Viewers prioritizing vivid color and strong upscaling on non-4K content, because Samsung is described as more accurate, brighter, and better at upscaling.
Home theater setups that need DTS passthrough through the TV, because DTS support is missing and may require an external audio extractor or receiver upgrade.
Buyers who may need an easy return path, because Samsung returns can be a hassle and one reported case involved a cracked screen and a difficult refund process.
It can work on some EPP accounts and on the 77-inch model, but it is reported as invalid on Education and first-responder accounts. Some shoppers also found the code removed a previously selected offer instead of lowering the total.
Watch the Samsung Vision AI video while signed in, then add the TV to cart; the discount can appear automatically without a separate code. Clearing cookies and using the TV & AV menu path reportedly helps when the offer does not show up.
The S90F is reported to be far brighter in Game Mode, more colorful, and better at handling direct reflections, while the C5 has Dolby Vision and can keep blacks darker in bright rooms. For Xbox and Dolby Vision content, the C5 has a slight edge; for brightness and QD-OLED color, the S90F does.
It does not support Dolby Vision, and DTS passthrough is also reported as unsupported. That means some setups may need an Apple TV, Nvidia Shield, or an external audio extractor/splitter for full media compatibility.
Doesn't seem to apply on top of the 25SOPDEC10 code, atleast not on my other EPP account, will stick to current order and negotiate after delivery for more off.

Interesting, it did for me. First I watched it to earn the offer and then added TV to cart to add the 25sop promo.

It applies but doesn't actually change the order total, now showing 1619 pre-tax on the other EPP account after both coupons lol. Should have bit when it went down to 1430 in app last week but figure the 2 yr warranty had some value. And while I can unbox and install it myself, for $30 easier to have the delivery folks do it. The 77 isn't heavy but it's unwieldy and delicate.Hoping can negotiate it down to 1500 or less after delivery. Fingers 🤞
Warning!!!!! If your wife wants the 83" for the main room do not argue with her! Just get it.
Double stack works but warranty is $500 for 4 years so about the same with tax with some venders that offer a free 5 year warranty.
As for the TV I have the 55 and 65 models and they are perfect in every way. Working apps and organizing them is a little bit of a hassle.
Be sure to use a surge and a UPS on these to protect your investment.
If I could start the season over again I would not have purchased the LG G5 77" as it was a pain to hang on the wall. A stand is better until you make sure the unit is problem free.
G5 is very nice for sure but the savings on these units make the Samsung a better deal all around.
Side note is that the Samsung's came with screen protection film and the LG-G5 did not. Hassle getting all the finger prints off the screen from the installer.
As for the power supply issues, Samsung in the early days of LEDs (14 years + ago), had this problem but was prompt to fix it. First 7 days normally you had that issue (Sears, Circuit City, BestBuy were quick to fix them or swap them out). Buying from Sam's etc., you can take it back for 90 days to the store.
I can verify the S90FD version at Sams's does not exhibit the PS issues after 115 days.

Thanks for the heads up. I was able to get it down to $1020.59, $1085 after tax. I guess I'll miss out on DV but I have HDR10(+) for most of my library.
I just placed an order for an S90F 65" for $1032.74 (before tax) using EPP with discount codes 25SOPDEC10 and 5SZLEITC6O. I will also get 5% cashback from PayPal by paying with "Pay in 4" and 2% cashback from my credit card. It is a good deal. Thanks.
