The HoverAir X1 Pro Max bundle stands out as a compact self flying camera for quick follow me shots, casual vlogging, and family trips. The Costco package adds real value with two batteries, a charging hub, and a case, and the camera is praised for sticking close, tracking well, and shooting in real 8K with a bigger sensor and HLG HDR. It is also described as easy for kids and discreet to carry. The main limits are short controller range and less appeal for drone enthusiasts who want more manual control, while rough trail use can still lead to crashes or lost time. A strong fit when portability and hands free capture matter most.
casual vloggers, content creators, or family vacationers who want quick preset/AI "self-flying" shots because commenters say they use the Pro Max for quick shots without spending time setting up a more traditional drone and that it's great for those situations.
Costco members who want a follow-me/self-flying camera bundle at a lower total cost because one commenter said Costco's $200 price drop made the bundle $399 and they were able to get a $200 refund (plus taxes) within 30 days using just their membership card.
people who want a compact, discreet follow drone for biking/trails because a commenter said it can follow at high biking speeds and "goes around obstacles" better than any drone they've seen.
buyers who mainly want a cheap follow drone and don't need pro-level manual control because commenters describe it as more of a self-flying camera (using presets/Quickshots) and say it's not for pros or drone enthusiasts who want more control of the drone.
parents looking for an easy-to-fly selfie/follow-me option for kids because a commenter said it's easy for kids and mainly works as a selfie/follow-me drone that can track without a controller mounted on handlebars.
mountain bikers who plan to fly while riding because one commenter returned a similar unit after it kept crashing into trees, which forced them to constantly stop and find the lost drone and made the activity unenjoyable.
drone enthusiasts or pros who want more manual control because commenters say it's not for you if you're a pro or drone enthusiast who wants more control of the drone.
people who want long-range controller-based landscape flying because a commenter says controller-based landscape use is very limited by range and it can't fly too far compared with DJI drones.
buyers comparing value against Neo 1 who already own batteries/controllers because one commenter said they couldn't justify the purchase since it would require buying new batteries on top of what they already had.

Anyhow, Hoverair must be hurting with the DJI Neo 2 release and its super low price point. Even I ordered one from that Slickdeal a few days ago.

I have never owned a drone but curious if this one is good for these uses:
-Just for fun. Can kids fly this?
-Investigating if that's a hole in the soffit for mice, or just moss that needs cleaning, etc.
-Follow me or kids on bikes, 4 wheelers, sleds, etc.
-Maybe terrorize some wasp nests in a tough spot
