What do you buy so much of at target? Do you get free shipping on small amounts if you pay with target giftcard? Or do you have to use gift cards along with a red card to get free shipping below $35? Sounds like a hassle. Since I'm mostly shopping online, seems like less deals upfront at target. As opposed to getting cashback rewards… haven't even been able to use up the few reward points before they expire. No more deals on Signing up for red cards?…When will their iPads be on sale again? Totally missed all last week sales

Hate to be that guy, but I'm not sure why this is worth posting. You can essentially make a post for every PayPal purchase this month with Chase Freedom if following this pattern.

I buy $500 GC each time target has this sales. Very good value for the most parts. For example; they often do deal like Buy $50 get $15 GC for household items concurrently with P&G Rebates. Take last week's apple earbud 4 for $70 for example, I got mine effectively for $63 due to discount from GC. It's different for everyone, I suspect many shop at Costco enough that they stopped cross checking pricing against Costco and assume Costco has the best price all the time. They do free shipping, I believe is $35 minimum but i could be wrong. I mostly do pick-up at local stores as I do pass-by sometimes. It's a good way to keep jobs and local economy going. keeping revenue tied to our local target store do help the local community in a small way, obviously the more people in the town do this, the better it is for the town.

I usually hit up their 90% clearance and spend a good $100 on a cart full! I also get smaller increment gift cards to give to teachers and family for Christmas presents!
They also have grocery coupons that you can stack with the discounted gift cards for even more savings!

Well... this isn't that great of a deal, above and beyond the 10% discount. Adding PayPal only gives an extra 5%, but you lose Red Card savings and is only a delta of 3% over most cashback cards these days (assuming at least 2% on daily spend).
redcard discount doesnt apply to target gift cards
I had actually forgotten about the Chase Paypal 5 Percent cash back as it was only for the month of December. Thanks for the reminder, good timing with the Target GC deal, great post!

I used to do this, but I ended up with more house hold products than I could use in my life time, so I'm no longer buying Target GC lol

I just used this Paypal through Chase deal to buy a gift card a couple days ago and got slammed with a $10 transaction fee from Chase. Apparently Paypal uses a cash advance to process some transactions like these, which Chase is happy to charge more for. I don't know if the culprit is Paypal or Chase, but I'll be avoiding using Paypal for gift cards going forward. Super shady.
