What do you buy so much of at target? Do you get free shipping on small amounts if you pay with target giftcard? Or do you have to use gift cards along with a red card to get free shipping below $35? Sounds like a hassle. Since I'm mostly shopping online, seems like less deals upfront at target. As opposed to getting cashback rewards… haven't even been able to use up the few reward points before they expire. No more deals on Signing up for red cards?…When will their iPads be on sale again? Totally missed all last week sales
I bought 8 $50 cards this way. Some of us buy them for work. I'm always looking for deals like this. I give each person in my small department a $50 gift card for the Holidays the day of our Christmas party. It's no big deal for me, since I get a yearly bonus worth one week's salary each year at Christmas. It keeps morale up in my group.

Agreed. I don't believe this should be the case for all gift cards. But since it's impossible to predict in advance of purchase, for me, I'm going to avoid the hassle going forward.
I would say best to avoid random sites, stick to the ones you have used and know haven't charged you in the past. It's good that you brought up this issue reminding people that it could happen.

Hate to be that guy, but I'm not sure why this is worth posting. You can essentially make a post for every PayPal purchase this month with Chase Freedom if following this pattern.
I was going to buy a large amount of gift cards today. This is essentially another 5% off. If you don't understand this, you should probably skip posting

It's not a matter of understanding, it's about making redundant post. Chase is 5% cashback all this month for PayPal. I should not make a post for every deal I see reminding people to use their Chase card along with it. There were already posts made for the Target giftcard discount before this one.

I just used this Paypal through Chase deal to buy a gift card a couple days ago and got slammed with a $10 transaction fee from Chase. Apparently Paypal uses a cash advance to process some transactions like these, which Chase is happy to charge more for. I don't know if the culprit is Paypal or Chase, but I'll be avoiding using Paypal for gift cards going forward. Super shady.
Paypal has been categorize tons of online shopping (of regular merchandise purchases) as cash advance, which cause many credit issuers to charge transaction fees as well as accrued interest on those charges (since they are cash advance). Paypal is going downhills. I used to use Paypal as a shield to avoid giving credit cards info to online vendor, but turns out vendor will be able to get the credit card and address info anyway even one use Paypal. With recent Paypal goof incidents, I am now skipping Paypal altogether.

Target is struggling since many are boycotting due to their cut to DEI. it seems Target doesn't understand their consumers

Not that this will make any difference or change your mind, but, just for the record... I really appreciate this post. I was aware of the Target gift card 10% deal today but that wasn't worth jumping for, since I already get 5% with my Target credit card. I was interested in the deal only if I could stack it with a credit card 5% category, but wasn't sure if anything like that lined up this season. I came to slickdeals specifically looking for an answer to that question, and dreaded I'd have to dig through 10 pages of comments to find one helpful Chad pointing out a stack like this. I was pleasantly surprised to see this on the frontpage and get to it quickly so I could make my purchasing decision. Should I have known that Chase freedom cards have 5% cashback on paypal all this month, because I track rewards categories meticulously like a good SDer? Should I have known that Target allowed payment with paypal? Should I have put it all together on my own to save you the pain of reading a post like this spelling it out for dummies like me? Maybe. Did I do any of that? Nope. Was it terribly traumatic for you to have this post clutter up your front page? I sincerely hope not. But if it was, well, tough. I still benefited from it. So, thanks OP!

What does DEI have to do with shopping at target? Do people get discouraged from buying based on what sexuality or race the workers are? WGAF

True. We still shop there, but less often for that reason.

Hi, all! Anyone else cannot access their target egift card when clicking on the "Access my gift card" link in the target egift card emails? Mine just goes to the target.com home page when I click on "Access my gift card" links. Currently happening on all my Target-purchased egift cards.

I added mine to my target circle account the day I bought it. Haven't had any new gift cards to access recently.

Thank u for chiming in! I know u already loaded them into your account, but I think you should still b able to access the gift card info (and even see their current balance, gc num, etc.) from their "access my gift card" links.
Just wondering if yours just go to the home page as well. I just tried again and mine are still "broken" Frown. I just want to be able to view the target egift cards that I purchased.
