I have a GST-100 and it's a nice watch. Solar powered so always charged. Mine has red accents where this is all black accented with white. What makes this more expensive than the Costco GST-100 at $169 is the solid case (hence the extra S in the model number I guess). From G-SHOCK "The GST-S100G that combines a solid case with a resin band".The G-steel cases are nice I understand. This is a true G-Shock that will last a long time. Good price.

A rando third party. This is like buying something out of the back of a car in a Walmart parking lot. SD needs to either stop allowing these posts or flag them.

Agree. This watch seems outrageously overpriced for what it is. No sapphire crystal, no atomic timekeeping, no compass or other fun sensors or complications, and quite a bit of resin - which is hardly a premium material. I don't know why people like these. You can get a citizen eco drive for less than this that will be much nicer and still solar powered.

I don't own one but went looking for an answer and found this. Marketing hype or truth?

What's special about G-Shock watches (short for Gravitational Shock) is their legendary toughness, built around Casio's "Triple 10" concept (10-year battery, 10-bar water resistance, 10-meter drop resistance), featuring a unique hollow-case structure with urethane foam protecting a "floating"module, making them nearly indestructible against shocks, vibrations, mud, and water, appealing to athletes, military, and fashion enthusiasts alike with advanced tech like solar power, GPS, and Bluetooth in modern models.
