Speaking from personal ownership

This is a great unit
Probably more suited to a more medium space

I suggest checking out the owner's forum on AVS. Many of them have owned this AVR since its introduction in 2021
There are lot of tips and tricks that can be learned from those that have actually owned the unit for years
There is a high satisfaction from what I have read

I was certainly satisfied with my unit when I owned it

I was trying to find a reason to avoid buying the RZ70 on E Expo for $1795 since it's totally unnecessary for my setup. This literally couldn't have come at a better time for me. Thanks for posting!!!

What is your 1st or 2nd choice model number of a comparable Denon or Yamaha (or other)? I thought Dirac Live is hard to find included under $2k. Thanks.
You can find Dirac live included for under 2K pretty easily...the RZ70 would be the unit at around that price point with one hack of amp/power supply ..should you need 11 channels driven

This unit..the RZ30 and if its comes back again, the Integra 3.4, have all been under $1K with Dirac onboard at no extra charge

Would this work with the Jamo speakers that use the same coupon code? https://slickdeals.net/f/18896617-jamo-speakers-2-colors-s-809-pair-s-803-pair-s-81-s-810-s-8-pair-449-free-shipping?page=4&src=frontpage&prop=&attrsrc=#comments

I think there are less speakers than this can handle

1st Choice: McIntosh, 2nd Choice: Marantz.
Is there any Marantz under $2k (including sales) which have Dirac Live?

Yes I realize all those Onkyo's can be found under $2k. I was responding to 2 comments which recommended picking non-Onkyo. People like to trash a deal when posted, so my question is always, what does that person like if not this?

Use A1Evo with Marantz and choose Dirac as your setting and you have it similar to what you would have with Dirac except not now you will have all Dirac room function & bass control.

Got it...I personally have bought a couple of Arcam units sub 2K that came with Dirac onboard at no extra charge
But that was an isolated limited availability situation from a particular dealer that sold to me and few others on AVS forum significantly below MSRP

You can buy an Arcam AVR11 for $1999 at Best Buy..or skip up to an AV21( which I would do) open box for a little more..$2242.00
Dirac onboard at no charge and to my ears more musical than any the Asian brands.

Have you also compared the RZ30/50 support for streaming protocols / services? It seems like there are differences, but I don't know enough about this yet. Thanks.
Sorry didn't try any of that out.
This might help, look under pros and cons.

For Dirac Live, the lowest was the Integra DRX3.4 for $570 but that deal hasn't returned in months.

The RZ30 has hit $700, for the extra $130 is a better buy ime.
Much newer with independent sub outs & access to Dirac's subwoofer/bass room correction software.
It drove a Primes setup with no problem for me.
Reviewer AR drove Ultras with no problem either.
It's a very capable unit.
As a matter of fact, depending on your setup, it can comparable to the RZ70.
Not needing the extra 2 channels of course.

Denon/Marantz don't include Dirac, it's an option choice.
You only pay for it if you want it.

The Cinema 50 is the least expensive unit that offers it.
The only real reason to go higher in model is for the extra channels.
Performance wise, it's small, especially for the much higher cost.

Nice thing about D/M they offer all 3 Dirac RCs(DL,DLBC,ART) & access to A1EVO.

A1 gives you pretty much the performance of DL & DLBC at no extra cost!
This is where not having to pay for Dirac unless you want too is very beneficial.

Been using this receiver every day since they first were released. Added on an amp for the L-C-R channels. Works great!

I've always been a 5.1 user. I don't have room for much more than that. Is this overkill? I often use an external amp. My last theater had a RZ840 as the pre and a Rotel RMB-1095 200W RMS x 5 and it was quite the experience. I'm seeking to get that Rotel amp again and use the new receiver only as a pre.

I had been waiting for this AV Receiver (Onkyo TX-RZ50) to go on sale and when I got the deal alert from Slickdeals that it was below $1k...I jumped on it! Thanks to Slickdeals and Adorama for making this purchase possible.

Yes it is overkill especially as a pre pro.

Assuming you're after Dirac, the RZ30 would be the better overall option for $700-$750.
Same performance, cost less, independent sub outs making Dirac's subwoofer RC(DLBC) more beneficial.
