Definitely stay away from REL. They give only a 3 year warranty because their subs are low quality and they know they dont last. One of mine developed a hum even when there is no signal. Of course I was out of warranty (just thought they would be 5 years, my mistake) but contacted to see if they can give me any help. I was hoping for a replacement amp for around cost but tgey wanted $400 plus shipping. Considering I got free shipping on the original purchase it would have cost as much for the replacement amp as the new sub cost me.

They had zero desire to help me. They give a shorter warranty so they dont have to cover the problems they create by cutting corners and they turn that into a profit maker by trying to overcharge for replacement parts. I will never buy REL again and would definitely not recommend them.

You're in for a treat. 2 of these for $1400 is a bargain - probably the best bass per dollar on the market.
I've been enjoying mine for over a year now.

For music you should want a natural tight bass, not sound like a cheap car stereo.
I agree 100%.
But there are plenty of subs that can do both with aplomb, and do NOT cost an arm and a leg.

That RSL 10s is one example. Hsu VTF-2 is another. Rythmik's subs, with their DC servo technology, are renowned for doing both movies and music well. (There's also the SVS SB2000 Pro which is a bit overpriced compared to the first 3 but still a much better buy than anything REL makes in the same size/power range.)

But if you only stick to whatever is carried at Best Buy or a local boutique shop, you would never have ever heard of those first 3 brands because they are consumer direct only.

That is what I call "the Jack Daniels whiskey mistake."

LOL please by all means show us in that well respected review where he even remotely says that 10" RSL competes with the 2K sub and or it's only 5% better!?

This should be good!!! LMAO!!!

Bro, don't feed the trolls. His opinion is the only thing that matters because he has heard every product sold and compared everything, nothing beats his high and mighty x3800 with Art 🀣. One of these subs will destroy his dual SVS3000 limp 25hz subs...

Supermanrob what are your thoughts on these options for around 1200-1500 bucks?

seems like a good deal? my room is 14x12 roughly

Thank you for the advice. One more question please. I recently bought the Klipsch set of 800f ii, 600m ii and was wondering what should I get for my 4 heights in ceiling speakers. CDT 5800 or 5650 c ii or go with Mica 8 inch?
Micca is good, I have it as the ceiling speakers for my 13.1 Setup.
Front: RP-8000F
Center: RP-504C
Sides: RP-502S
Rear: RP-600M
Front Height: RP-500SA
Rear Height: RP-500SA
Ceiling: Micca M-8C
Subs:
2x R112SW
1x SPL-150
1x RP-1400SW
Amp: Denon X8500HA

You asking the wrong person... lmfao. And yes this is a great deal. Nothing comes close to this sub at this price. It's performance is unmatched arguably all the way upto the $2k price point. It is better than it's larger sibling as well. Idk muchπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. But I have 4 18"DIY subs and if I didn't have them I'd buy these.

No reviewer would say that because their whole business model relies on the "you get what you pay for" mythology. PLUS even if a reviewer said that, who cares? Don't you even have a brain? The CEA measurements don't lie---a $500 sub that goes lower and louder than the housewife-pleasing $1500 REL one! Sorry if that bursts your gullible-fanboy bubble, bubba. πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

"dual SVS3000 limp 25Hz subs"---so our boy "supermanrob" has the SB3000 not PB3000? ROTFL ... that makes perfect sense. He really is a helpless gullible rube, poor thing. Probably clicks on phishing email links too, LMAO LMAO LMAO

I might not be the person to ask.
Graphs/measurements tell me very little of how it will actually perform/sound to me.

Something I would suggest looking at is ootprints.
Ime proper placement is crucial and that environment isn't that big.
To properly implement two subs can be challenging also.
When done properly, it's often the better route.

These are great for atmos, I'm using 4 of them, even better sounding are the square version 8" as they have better crossovers but either way a total bargain.. would stay away form the 6" versions thou... "Ceiling: Micca M-8C" Also, it's hysterical that some will come on here and state no you need $300 a piece speakers for your overhead atmos speakers!!! lol
