As a math teacher, my opinion is that this calculator is the best scientific one out there and much beter than the TI-30XIIS.

  1. Average for a scientific calculator for k-12 use.
  2. I prefer the Sharp models. Faster for many calculations due to the more efficient placement of ( ) and memory store/add/recall buttons.
  3. Nutty exponential calculation order. Most sensible calcs will eval 5/20E3 fine, but on the Casios, need to use 5/(2x10^3).
  4. Almost always at this price or lower for this or similar sci calc in ebay and Craigslist. And given that calculators rarely fail (see the many vintage 40+ year old models on sale), easy to find a cheaper deal.
  5. Learn soroban/abacus or how to math on paper fast. Can usually beat calc users on standardized tests - embarrassing how slow most are typing away....

Wolfram Alpha can usually answer Every K-12 math problem. Apps like Mathway are ok for the non-complex problems. And AI? Up to you to verify they're not hallucinating answers.

TI-36 series is the best.
