I've seen this movie on paramount+ app a few times, I'll going to get this 4K Blu-ray. Hoping to get the details/clarity that I'd often missed my the on line streaming compressions.

I have it on 4K disk, and it's definitely worth it. The intro test flight is a fun subwoofer test. Honestly, the biggest benefit (IMHO) is improved sound/Atmos if you got a decent HT setup.

In real life the Mossad then IAF softens the target in advance so much that the final bombing mission isn't as dramatic.

TBH it depends on how good and implemented your setup is.

Some pricy Atmos soundbar, might not be that big a deal.

A quality well implemented speaker setup, galaxy size difference.

100% Not sure why anyone would down vote this.
I have a 5.1 surround setup, the sub is a SVS. I streamed Dune 2 for some friends, and I then put the Blu-ray version on. Immediately they all said "wow, that sounds much better".

Not sure what you're on about but none of the Top Gun or Iron Eagle films are based on fictional books.

Of course there is a real Top Gun school - United States Navy Fighter Weapons School established on 3 March 1969, at Naval Air Station Miramar, California which has been written about extensively.

Fun movie but is getting qute cheesy as time moves on. A bit pricy as the digital version can be had for $5 but it does include the physical media.

There are Internet discussions that the movie steals from Iron Eagle and Star Wars, however, everyone agrees that this movie improved the aforementioned for this picture.
